this thread inspired me to pop 2 of my last 5 powerhouse beans (dc x c99)
hopefully i get a nice hybrid pheno, dc yield scares me..thinking about running bubbling buckets to max what i can get outta them ladies (hopefully)

any helpful advice?

one more thing.. i seem to remember having to scratch these seeds up gently with the ol' file before they would germ, but they're pretty hardy beans

Looks like a neat cross, beancounter! It looks like a nice, squat indica. You can see that the 3 plants are actually quite uniform for a hybrid. I bet they will be great for hash because those big leaves are covered in trichomes. It appears as though the buds are quite leafy, however. From what I've seen though, both the bubba kush and deep chunk are like that to begin with.

I'm looking forward to hearing how high you get from the finished product! Have you tried the sour diesel x deep chunk yet? (would that be deep diesel, sour chunk or what? lol). I have a feeling the the sweet skunk x DC will be kick ass as well...

LOL, thanks bro, yeah, small pots are kinda my thing, especialy on test grows on new lines.. it helps stress them and helps show peeps how well they can do in less than perfect circumstances... plus it allows me to pack em in tight..


sorry, you're right, i shoulda listed the parents.. this cross was made using the katsu Bubba (one of, if not the best bubba cut) x Deep Chunk..

If the feedback is stellar across the board I have no doubt that these are worthy of retailing.. If jus the bubba pheno (#2) is a keeper I'd still be more than happy.. 1 keeper from 3 fems is much better than any commercial cross/strain I've ever grown..

of course this isn't one for those looking for huge yeilds, but I know some of you out there could care less about yeild, and jus want the best indica possible.. let's jus hope this is is it..

No, I didn't make any F2s on this run, that's your guy's (and gals) jobs once they get out there.. F2 these Bubba Chunks and you should end up with girls as good or better than any of the Bubba cuts out there.. I would love to see peeps make big batches of F2s and gift them out and see them enjoyed..



as far as the differences.. the #2 BC is the most Bubba looking/smelling of the batch, and in fact, the trimmed nugs of #2 look bang on for trimmed Bubba nugz, regardless of the cut.. the pic that LIMELIGHT posted up says it all.. I have no doubt this pheno would trick almost all who smoke it that it's pure bubba and not a cross..


this was jus a small sampling.. only 5 seeds, 3 girls... not really a full test, but that's what all my friends and test growers are for.. My opinion counts, but I'm almost too hard/picky to be a good judge overall.. from what i can see it's as good or better than any other hybrid out there on the market, but again, the smoke will tell us all..

And to be clear, this is not supposed to be a knock-off of Bubba, I won't be touting this as Bubba in seed form, as it's certaintly not.. but if I can find 1 Bubba pheno per 3 fems it looks likes we're on the right track..

I may be taking this a few gens, or perhaps and BX to the Bubba clone. we'll see how it goes, and play it by tounges and lungs

i smoked an early dried sample of #2 and the potency was right inline with what i would expect, closer to Bubba than DC, but maybe not quite potent as the best bubba cuts..

I'll need to wait till it's properly dried and sample it with a fresh head with some other cannasuers and get the final word.. I'm sure all of these phenos will be pretty good, but ya never know.. can't judge a bud by a picture...

I really look forward to the other testers, and their thoughts.. I'd love to see some of these outside, i sure wish i had the proper room/space.. one day....

I just bogarted an early sample of #2 for the 1st joint of tha day and I am jus grinnin' ear to ear.. I'm happy with the taste/flavor/odor, and the potency/high type is all I could ask for on a 1st attempt.. A great testiment to the parents in the cross, without Tom Hill none of this would even be possible. thanks bro, sincerely.


the other phenos are essentialy higher yeilding DC phenos with slightly more strength in stone.. I dunno about most people but I find the Deep Chunk to be a very euphoric and heady pure indica, with a fairly mild body stone.. the cross to Bubba has just upped the body part of that, and still retains a good amount of head..


I know 5 beans is a small sampling but I'm pretty convinced the results will be fairly consistant from the rest of the testing. There's far more than 200 Bubba Chunks out there in growers hands for testing, so there should be a good show of them over the next few months..

I have also smoked with my brother, who is familiar with all the same genetics as I am (lucky dog doesn't gro it tho), along with my sister who has a much less refined pallet.. My brother's feelings were spot on with mine, and i gave my sis a sample of BC #2 and she came back a day later saying it absolutely blew her and all her friends away, she said it's probly one of the best samples I've given her, up there with Bubba and ECSD.. she actualy thought it was Bubba as I didn't label it.. I've only given her a small chunk of Bubba before (i don't want her or her friends buggin' me for it) and she thought I was just giving her more because it was her B-day.. lol


anyways, I'll smoke it with a few more heads and report back..

I'd really rather see other people writing the reports but I assure you, I'm judging all that comes from my flowering room with the same tounge and tolerance for mj.


Is the BC #2 the grail, or as good as the best Bubba cuts? probly not.. but I'd rank this seed as top 3 I've grown for finished bud flavor/quality.. Bubba chunk is tied with the old skewl HTIndica pheno for 1st, and DC and PAKI IBL tied for 2nd/3rd..


One nice things is that this hybrid has alot more vigor and stretch than both of it's parents, which is one thing that makes it a lil more managable for personal indoor growers..

I definately recomend topping these to develope 4 main tops, and pruning away any of the lower branches not gettin' light by 2 wks flower... Or prune away partial fan leaves to let light get down to the lower tops.. believe me, plants like Bubba and DC have enough leaves to supply 5 plants with energy.. you guys should see how much compost i have been going thru with all these plants..

And expect to see some of the biggest fan leaves you've ever seen with this cross.. i got some well over 12-13", and that's indoors in tiny pots...


I'll post up some dry shots if there's any left by then I only got about 1/2-3/4 oz per plant.. maybe an oz on the topped one..
