soilless mix

I have a Peat mix with some ECW and Perlite and added Dolomite lime..
Do i need to wet this and let it set? If so how much and how long?

Hey!

I made my soil mix last Sunday. I'm going to let it sit for 2 weeks minimum, or however long it takes for my seedlings to get big enough to transplant into it.

Here's pics of it. about 25 gallons. For what amendments I used, you can check the 1st page of my grow diary thread below in signature.

If that's all you are going to put in there, then I would pour some water on it and mix it in well before tubbing it. I used water with 1tsp/gallon of Liquid Karma. I used 1 gal of Liquid karma water/5 gallons of soil. Mixed in well the soil should be damp, not wet. I'll keep it like this till I use it.

top stays on the tote to prevent moisture loss. Humidity here is like 30%.

Dont really need to let it set unless you are adding hot nutes that need to cook down to make the soil safe for use.You didnt mention any of these so I say fire away.

That's true. He's put nothing in it yet that needs "cooking". I guess I was thinking of my own mix.

the pro mix says it has lime in it... should i add 2 TBLS of lime to make sure all goes well?

Add more lime. Better safe than sorry. Now you would have to let it set for a bit for the lime to be effective. I hope that's right. If not gromer will stick his head back in here and rap my knuckles with his damn cane. If I move fast enough, he may swing and miss and fall on his face. Then we can all laugh.
Anyways, I'd add some lime and let it set. It's how I did it. ain't saying it's right.
