Soilless grow with advanced nutes

I first started out doing a soilless grow with advanced nute line( micro, grow bloom line) with fine results, then I tried a organic grow, I'm not happy with results, so I'm going back to soilless grow, sunshine mix with àdvanced micro ,grow bloom line, my question is I heard I should use dolomite lime in mix , if so what are the ratios ? Also is there a better soilless mix I should use with àdvanced nutes . I feel my organic grow just gave me too many def issues, the soilless with advanced nutes gave me more control and very little def issues......but I am a newb, only 5 grows so far, learning, and unsure how to read plants well. If I knew how to read plants well then my orgsnic grow might have been better, I really look for a way to grow with the least chance of having def issues, because I don't read plants well yet.atleast I'm honest.

All advise , tips suggestions are welcome

Thank you

If you are using sunshine 4 it should already have dolomite in the mix.

Your right ,but I have heard that it was not enough and the mix gets acidic and it was a good idea to add more, I have no clue , I do know when I was using sunshine I did have a tuff Tim keeping ph in range" I am also thinking about using coco medium, I heard it was good to use...

I use SS#4 myself and love the control it allows you.. aslong as you are constantly watering in the same ph range it should stay pretty close, don't go chasing your PH.. consistency is key!.. I usually go about 6.3-6.5 with each watering/feed and it hardly drifts.. never added any extra lime either...I use the K.I.S.S. method - maxibloom @ 1tsp/7g a gal thru out the plants life and a little silica as a ph up to bring it into range.. has been working out great so far.

Not sure if you have seen it at your local indoor gardening store but advanced has a ph perfect line of base nutrients.. plants will uptake nutrients at ANY PH range when feeding with it.. might b helpful if you are set on going with advanced and want to avoid lockout issues.. just a suggestion.. good luck!

all you need to know about K.I.S.S. :) ---> https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191645

I switched from the foxfarm trio pack to maxibloom($15 for 2.2lbs.. which makes approx 143 gallons of feed) and it has been working out great.. better development so far in comparison.. no deficiencies either.. barely mid flowering but so far it has an A in my book.

if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.. glad to help when possible.

Would fox farm ocean forest potting soil be a bad idea to use as a medium as a beginner??..thanks..gg

Deff. not.. I love FFOF :), just a bit pricey IMO depending on where you live.. just hold off on using any nutrients for the first 2-3 weeks(just plain PH'd water) as its loaded with lots of good stuff to feed your plants during that time period.. might wanna add some perlite to the mix to make it better draining if your just starting and haven't grasped watering.. can help you avoid over watering issues.
