Hello everyone need some advice with this soil recipe im trying to come up with . Need to know if all this mixed together will give me a good super soil recipe or did i over do it .Iv made alot of other soil recipes befor from just my own compost and stuff and really worked but wanna get somthing thats works even better. Here is a list of thing that i got

1.FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil

2.Fox Farm American Pride (9-6-6) Provides a multitude of macro and micro-nutrients.It derives its minerals from cottonseed meal, blood meal, bat guano and earthworm castings--ingredients that encourage beneficial organisms.

3.Fox Farm Marine Cuisine Organic based formula contains specific ocean bi-products plus low salt plant foods. Known for their powerful effect on plant life. Encourages beneficial microbe populations needed for optimum growing conditions.

4.Mushroom Compost It is comprised of peat, manure, and other elements. Mushroom compost is great for micro nutrients, trace elements, and some macro nutrients

5.Green Sand mined ore called glauconite. It is mainly potash and hydrated silicate of iron. The ore contains a huge amount of potassium and up to 32 trace minerals. It increases plant vitality and vigor, which will help with everything from fruiting to pest control. A healthy plant can defend itself.

6.Rainbow Mix Grow (5-5-2) is formulated from all-natural sources including bat guano, kelp meal, steamed bone meal, and natural potash.

7. Rainbow Mix Bloom (1-9-2) Same as # 6

8.Fox Farm Peace of Mind All PurposeContains natural microorganisms that activate the soil, helping to deliver increased nutrition to plants.

sounds like thorough mix.

the good thing about organics is, its hard to over do it....
(but IF you do, it is a very slow recovery process.)

are you planting on starting seeds in that soil?

have you heard about the 'moonshine mix' might be a bit cheaper...

also, are you planning on brewing teas to feed with?

if not i would think about proper food for the mycorrhizae. rock phosphate/leonardite in soil mix would accomplish this.

keep it green.

lavender-
Here are organic mixes and recipes I have tried with success...
Here are some very good organic soiless mixes...

LC’s Soiless Mix #1:
5 parts Canadian Spaghnam Peat or Coir or Pro-Moss
3 parts perlite
2 parts wormcastings or mushroom compost or home made compost
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
...Check the link in my sig line below for cheap earthworm castings. Free shipping to the eastern USA.

Or, if you use Pro Mix or Sunshine Mix...
LC's Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up)
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.

RECIPE #1
If you want to use organic nutes like blood, bone and kelp...
Dry Ferts:
1 tablespoon blood meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
2 tablespoons bone meal per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of soil mix
1-tablespoon kelp meal per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of soil mix or Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract as directed
1 tablespoon per gallon or 1/2 cup per cubic foot of Jersey Greensand to supplement the K (potasium) in the Kelp Meal and seaweed extract.
Mix all the dry ferts into the soiless mix well and wet it, but don't soak it with Liquid Karma and water @ 1 tbs./gal. Stir and mix it a few times a week for a week or two so the bacteria can get oxygen and break down the bone meal and make it available. And don't let the mix dry out, keep it moist and add water as needed. It'll also have time to get the humic acids in the Liquid Karma going and the dolomite lime will be better able to adjust the pH of a peat based mixture too.

RECIPE #2
If you want to use guano in your soil mix...
Bongaloids guano mix
1/3C hi N guano per gallon
1/2C hi Phos guano per gallon
1TBS Jersey greensand per gallon
1TBS Kelp meal per gallon

RECIPE #3 (My favorite)
If you want to use guano tea and kelp...

Guano Tea and Kelp:

Seedlings less than 1 month old nute tea mix-
1-cup earthworm castings/5 gallons of water every 3rd watering

Veg mix-
1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano (Mexican)
1/3 cup Earth Worm Castings (EWC)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
5 tbs. Liquid Karma
1 tbs. Black Strap Molasses
@ 1-cup mix/5 gallons of water every 3rd watering.

Flowering nute tea mix:
2/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano
2/3 cup Earth Worm Castings
2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamaican)
5 tbs. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
2 tbs. Black Strap Molasses
@ 2 cups/5 gallons of water EVERY watering.
You can use queen size knee high nylon stockings for tea bags. 3 pair for a dollar at the dollar store. Tell 'em you use them for paint strainers. Put the recommended tea in the stocking, tie a loop knot in it and hang it in your tea bucket. The tea should look like a mud puddle. Agitate the bag in the water vigorously. An aquarium pump and air stone will dissolve oxygen into the solution and keep the good bacteria (microherd) alive and thriving. Let it bubble a day or two before you use it. If you find you are making too much tea and having to throw it out, use 2 1/2 gallons of water and cut the nute amount by half.
Vic High (BCGA) suggests his Super Soil mix:

Original recipe:

1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix
2 L Bone Meal - phosphorus source
1L Blood Meal - nitrogen source
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source
3-4 cups dolomite lime -calcium source & pH buffering
1 tsp fritted trace elements
1/2 - 1 bag chicken manure (steer, mushroom, etc) - nitrogen & trace elements
Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.

Revised recipe - after several failures due to bad manure sources, I now use the following recipe. Results have been excellent and the clones seem to take off right away instead of having a slow growing settling in period.

1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix (3.8 cu ft)
8 cups Bone Meal - phosphorus source
4 cups Blood Meal - nitrogen source
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source
3-4 cups dolmite lime -calcium source & pH buffering
1 tsp fritted trace elements
4 cups kelp meal.
9kg (25 lbs) bag pure worm castings

Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.

Substitutions - The original recipe was a success, but I simply needed to experiment. In addition, sometimes not all ingredients were always available. Therefore, here are some possible additions and/or substitutions. What is an Earth Juice/Maxicrop Recirculating Res?

In order to feed plants with Earth Juice, it must be mixed and recirculated for at least 24 hours before feeding. The reservoir ought to be light proof and have a lid, though the lid does not need to be air tight. A black 5 gallon bucket and lid will work perfectly and will easily feed 10 plants in 2 gallon pots.

~shabang~ recommends using a relatively high volume aguarium water pump, like the Rio 2100, to keep the mix recirculating. Your author humbly suggests that a bubble curtain and high output air pump will do the trick.

For vegging plants, use the following mix per gallon of water:

1-2 tablespoons of EJ Grow
1 tablespoon Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed
1 tablespoon EJ Catalyst
1 teaspoon of EJ Bloom every other feeding

(Note: Earth Juice Grow is not rocket fuel. It really helps to add a 1/2 cup of high N guano to your soil when planting. If you do this, only use 1 tablespoon of EJ grow per gallon.)

For flowering plants, use the following mix for the first 3 weeks of 12/12 per gallon of water:

1 teaspoon of EJ Grow
1 tablespoon of Maxicrop
1 tablespoon of EJ Catalyst
1 tablespoon of EJ Bloom every other feeding until week three, then every feeding

For flowering plants, use the following mix after the first three weeks of flowering, per gallon of water:

1 tablespoon of EJ Bloom
1 tablespoon of Maxicrop
1 tablespoon of EJ Catalyst
1/2 tablespoon of EJ Grow every other feeding (more if your bottom leaves start yellowing too early)

''Hobosapien'' I will be putting my clones in this soil when ever my plants sex . And probably put the Females i get the clones off in this soil mixture . And yes i read the ''MoonShine'' mix right after i bought all of this stuff about 2 weeks ago. I had some extra cash and figured i would buy really good soil additives .

Also yes im planning on make tea with Super Tea,(5-5-1) is a high nitrogen general purpose grow fertilizer. It is a mix of Mexican bat guano, seabird guano, worm castings and soluble seaweed that provides a delightfully nutritious meal.

And will be using this also as a organic fertilizer.Neptune's Harvest Fish and Seaweed, providing micro and macronutrients to my plants. And well-balanced NPK promotes strong growth and plentiful buds.

And maybe some Budswel Dry.Are there anymore Teas i should invest in .Because iv used the tea before and worked really well. But seemed to be lacking something . Also for the Rock Phosphate i think it is a vegan alternative to bone meal and is used similarly to bone meal.

Also thanks Dan Woody for those mixtures but iv already bought everything

GOD: Those are some nice ingredients, although really redundant. I'm curious as to ratios and amounts that you are planning to use.

I don't see perlite in your inventory. Probably be a good idea to use it for about 25% to 33% of your OF/MC soil mix. (1 part perlite to 2 or 3 parts OF/MC).

As you probably know, the Marine Cuisine and American Pride are organic based, but contain some salts. FoxFarm recommends their use with OF, but some "Organic Fanatics" might take exception.

Greensand is slow release and your plants probably won't get to much of it before you harvest. (Good to use if you plan to recycle your soil though.) There is ample K in the dry fertilizers in your inventory.

There is rock phosphate in your POM All Purpose as well as in your RainBow Grow and Rainbow Bloom. There's mykes in all 3, also. That's a Good Thing! I've read where all 3 can be used for tea. (They're mostly soluble. Molasses or Liquid Karma would go good if you use them that way.) .......or

Super Tea for veg and Budswell for flower are highly praised by many growers. Neptunes Harvest also has an excellent reputation.

One thing for sure: Your plants will NOT go hungry with the plethora of organic nutes you plan on using. LOL (Careful on the amounts- don't over do it!)

PS- If you want to go the "Strictly Organic!" route, maybe your supplier will trade the Marine Cuisine and American Pride for some FoxFarm Big&Chunky perlite. Just a thought....... HAPPY GROWING!

''Judas Cohen'' thanks man thats probably the best response I've had yet with this Soil Recipe .A lot of my older growing buddies strongly disagree with all the stuff im adding. But iv got some really touchy plants im growing in this soil recipe and are just going crazy with growth .So im hoping my ''real'' plants will do the same thing . But i have no idea how much im gonna use of each . I used alot with these weird touchy plants im growing . But yeah perlite chunky is a must for all my soils .

Here are some pick of my last compost soil grow . Dont know the strain but was one of the best highs iv ever had like getting high for the first time .
1st pic is at Day 21

2nd pic is at day 30

3rd pics is at 2 weeks flowering

4th pic is almost done hovering around 6.5ft tall (Closet grow)

5th pic is 1 week before harvest

6th pic is finale product 2 month cure

That's a NICE plant! Looks like you know what you're doing. Indoor 6 1/2 feet- what was your lighting set-up?

Container size? Brief rundown on fert regimen?

That's a NICE plant! LOL

Thanks alot man. She stretched about 4 x the size when she was vegged.

Container Size was a 5 gal pot.

Light set up was four 4 foot fluorescents 320wtts and a 250hps

As for ferts. i used Super Tea ,SuperThrive ,Alaska Fish Fertilizer,Alaska MorBloom,And soomthing called Massive Blooms that a local company make around me cant seem to find it no where but where i live

I assume your shop lights were verticle (up&down) due to square footage limitations in your closet? Helps with side lighting for tall plants, but weak penetration. Good job for those growing conditions.

If your read the labels on your ferts, I think you will find many duplications in the ingredients. Not a bad thing, but not really necessary. MoonShineMan uses a similar approach, only he mixes factory soils that have a lot of redundancies- works great because percentages of ingredients are in a very good ratio. The trick for you is to find the optimum ratio and amounts.

There are zillions of "right" ways to grow, IMO. My guess is you will do fine, if you don't over do it.

FWIW: Morbloom 0-10-10 is not 100% organic, like the Marine Cuisine, American Pride, and Superthrive. Many growers love them though, and get great results. (Just brought it up 'cause your thread is in the organic section.) LOL

Happy growing!/Stay Safe!
