Soil and nutrients?

Anyone got any suggestions on what type of soil to use? Also, should I be using nutrients for seedlings? If so which are safe to use at a young age and how much? Thanks

Use coco or something like Pro Mix or Sunshine. These have no nutes to speak of, so you'll need to add. General Organics is fool proof, productive, organic, reasonably priced, but use the entire line. Their feed chart works well. I wouldn't feed seedlings until you get your first set of true leaves, then at 1/4 strength. Increase slowly to full strength as they grow. If they show a little leaf tip burn, back off for a while, then start to increase again. Research this site while you're growing your first crop, and maybe you'll want to try other things. Good luck. -granger

I just started my first grow in coco (my first grow ever). I have one seedling that is a week old and three others that just popped. No nutes yet, just RO water, and the babies are looking very healthy. I will wait until they start telling me that they are hungry before I feed them anything. I have purchased the entire General Organics line, just as Granger2 has suggested you do.

Agreed. And to add.

Growers that want to change to soil or start with soil, I would advice to be sure to amend the soil. Be sure that it is rich in nutrients, N-P-K should be close to 7-6-12. For example Ive used this recipe with good results:

Canna terra professional plus 100 liters of soil
10 liters of perlite
500 grams guano kalong
500 grams of lime

and made sure that the water I water with has a Ph of around 6.0.

Peace and understanding.
