WHEN IS COMES TO TOPPING LST SUPPER CROPPING AND OTHER GROWING TECHNIQUES, THE PRO'S TEND TO AGREE ON THE CORRECT WAY OF DOING SO WITH THE GROWER USUALLY ONLY HAVING SMALL TWEAKS AND DIFFERENCES
BUT I FIND MANY CONTRADICTING STATEMENTS WHEN IT COMES TO LOLLIPOPPING TECHNIQUE
CAN SOME ONE PLEASE CLEARIFY THE WAY THIS FORM OF TRAINING IS PROPERLY DONE

FOR EXAMPLE; 1.-SOME GROWERS HERE SAY TO PRUNE IN VEG, SOME SAY WAIT TILL THE STRETCH IS COMPLETE SOME SAY PRUNE AS NEEDED
2- SHOULD I REMOVE 1/3 OF THE PLAN BOTTOM GROWTH OR ROUGHLY HOW MUCH
3- DO I REMOVE TOP 3 BRANCHES? I READ THAT HERE BUT I TAKE EVERYTHING I READ WITH A GRAIN OF SALT
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE FAN LEAVES ARE THE FUEL TANKS SO HOW DO I FIND THE BALANCE BETWEEN REMOVING TO PROMOTE UPPER GROWTH VS LEAVING SOME GAS IN THE TANK PER SAY

FEEL FREE TO ADD ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THAT CAN BE HELPFUL THANKS IN ADVANCE:help:

First thing is to stop shouting at us, second is to wait more than 40 minutes before bumping your post..

For the lollipopping, I'd look into DrBud's posts - his technique requires no pruning, with very agreeable results.

It's not being sensitive dude, it's internet etiquette. You can't take less than a second to hit the caps lock. You're the one being insensitive about it since it's so jarring to read a WALL OF CAPITAL LETTER TEXT. But anyway - let us know how it goes if you choose the DrBud route, I'm doing the same and just about ready to start taking clones.

SOG and lollipop are different techniques.

SOG = clones that have just begun to root, then placed immediately into flower. Best done with 12wk sativa dom hybrids, that will still give you a good amount of stretch, which allows for more budsites to develop. These clones are placed at a rate of 4 plants per square foot. This requires the use of 6" square pots, that are roughly 1/2 gallon. Also, this works best when plants are fed nutrients automatically on drippers, otherwise it is impossible to really reach them to water. Trying other ways, will result in the plants running out of food before they finish and a less than desired outcome.

Lollipop - Yes, you do a bit of training and trimming of the lower branches. This is also known as single cola style. The idea here, is keep only the part of the plant that is going to form a tight / full cola. Depending on strain, how much of the lower branches you remove will vary. You can grow any size plant, in any size container single cola - lollipop is a pruning technique that in theory allows the plant to focus it's energy on the top of the plant versus spreading it over an entire bush. I like 1-2g containers for such a method spread out about 1 plant per sq ft, sometimes 2 plants per sq ft if in 1 gallon.

I hope this helps you out...

NOW.... QUIT SHOUTING AT US!!!! ;)

Got Things Mixed Up a Bit

Got Things Mixed Up a Bit

In SOG you don't do anything to the plants but flip them to flower as early as possible, so you get just one large main cola on each plant. You may have to trim or push fan leaves out of the way of the buds, but that's about it.

Lollipopping is, IMO and experience, best suited when SCRoGing. In SCRoG, during veg I don't prune at all, but train the plants to grow horizontally (with and without topping), using ties, LSTing, and the trellis as a guide. When you make the main top lower than the lower branches in veg, they shoot right up, producing any number of "main" colas on the plant by the time you harvest. You can decide how many nodes you want to go before flipping. A plant trained this way will soon look like a bug laying on its back with many legs sticking up.

The lollipopping comes into play in the flower stage when, during or after the initial stretch (by the end of week 2 or 3), you remove everything that has not penetrated your screen and contributed to forming an even canopy. One can remove such a shit-load of small buds and leaves that it can get scary. But doing so will push all the energy of each plant up to produce what looks like many (8-14) main colas. BTW, a SCRoG is done with far fewer plants than in a SOG.

Training in SCRoG

Training in SCRoG

Here's what I mean when I say the plants look like bugs on their backs with many legs sticking up. The first three picts are of the same plant, taken from different angles. There will be a total of 8 or 9 bud sites on this plant (there's a small one that will likely be removed), all of them leveling out to form an even canopy. This is day 9 of flower, just after all the material below the trellis was removed. At the end of the stretch in a week or two, there will be another lollipopping of each branch, leaving at least 3-4 nodes on each, with the bottom and side branches trained level with the terminal top using the trellis in order to create an even canopy.

This pict shows the area below the trellis after lollipopping:

So, to answer your questions (at least as far as SCRoG is concerned):
1. Trim only after veg stage is complete, then trim as needed.
2. Remove as much as you deem fruitful. I trim/prune up to the top 3 or 4 nodes of each branch, by the end of the stretch. The key is to choose as many of the most promising branches as possible, so as to get 8-12 bud sites from each plant, and remove everything else.
3. Never, ever remove the top three branches! You can remove the terminal top so as to direct more energy to the side and bottom branches, but I don't recommend it.

Also, I prefer to let the terminal cola set the standard for the others. It is always larger and bulkier than the rest, but with an even canopy you can get the others to produce nice near-comparable buds, like these:
