What's new

SOG hempy style

K

Kal-El

I like to tinker around and try new ideas.
I have been growing with hempy buckets lately and wanted to try this out.
This is the tub, it's 14 gallons.
There plants on the left half are Jillybean and on the right half are Jacks Cleaner.
Straight perlite for the medium.
Fed with AN Sensi One bloom.
They are in veg right now, will be flipping soon.

How big do you think that they'll get? I'm always lurking around where folks are using hempy buckets etc, so I'll be checking this out along the way.

I am hoping to pull about 5 to 10 grams per plant. There are about 20 plants.

Cool.... Although Im not really understanding... Is there any drainage at the bottom of the bucket??? How do you find the sensi one bloom?? thats all your using??

Yes, there are 2 drain holes about 2 inches from the bottom of the tub.
Sensi one bloom works great, there is enough N in it for the short veg time and it is ph buffered, so I add some to the water and pour it in the tub. I never measure ph. I water with tap water daily, about 1/2 a gallon. I fill it until I see run off from the drain holes.
This is the first time I am trying this in a tub, so we shall see how it turns out. I must say, I am very surprised at how well it is turning out so far. Wait unitl I post the pics after 1 week of flower.

Day 10 of flower.
The stretch on the jacks cleaners is crazy.
I might try using bushmaster next time.
They are getting just over 1 gallon of water per day.

Thats a cool experiment man. I used passive residual rez's before in small containers. The simplicity is cool. My initial concerns of salt/nute build up in the bottom didnt seem to happen, I guess as long as you water ED your self flushing ED.

Day 19 of flower.
I had to prune a lil bit, not enough light hitting the shorter plants.

I'm a little confused on what you're doing with this grow Kal. I understand the hempy, I've got 12 seedlings cozy in their hempy cups right now. I'm confused on the "SOG" aspect. How are you going to SOG in the tub? I am sogging, but in individual 1 qt. cups. 3 in - 3 out every two weeks is the plan. Will you just be pulling the plants out of the Pearlite and sticking in a frest clone? Won't the roots be tangled? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I always thought that a SOG was a perpetual-type grow that was done small, lollipop style, in individual containers?

That shit looks great for a single-time grow. I might do this while my SOG is building up.

SOG does not have to be perpetual, just refers to growing multiple smaller plants, in condensed style, creating the SEA OF GREEN.
