Sodium Bicarb safe to raise pH?

is it safe to use Sodium Bicarb to raise pH?

keep reading contradicting posts, any help and a explanation of why or why not would be good.

I think it would be bad the key word is sodium "salt". I think Potassium bicarb would be safer you could find that at a local brewing supply store.

yes mate, the word sodium is what prompted me to post this.

trouble is im all out of pH+ and cant get to the shops till Monday and have a couple of very hungry girls sitting in some coco.

but thanks for the advice my friend.

Garden/lawn lime will work well if you have any. If you have access to drywall, so will that. Antacid tablets(Tums, Rolaids, etc.) will work, but you have to watch that because the calcium can cause lockouts.
