SoCal Consultant Recs?

Hey all...

I'm in dire straits here in the greater LA area, as many of you know, attorneys are not allowed to speak in specifics lest they violate their oath to uphold federal law, so I am having a hell of a time figuring some things out. I have the growing part down, but need help with the other stuff.

I've been on this forum for 5 years and growing for near 10, I love the science of growing so much that I can't imagine a life without it. Really, I would just become wildly depressed. All of my flowers and concentrates test off the charts (by SC labs) so it's proven to me by science that I grow good stuff (also the people who taste it keep coming back).

I have been looking at some consultants (green rush, med men etc) but have had bad luck with consultants in past (non cannabis related) businesses... so am wondering if anyone on this forum has had a good experience with a consultant based in CA? I will drive anywhere in CA, I don't care. Cost is not an issue. This is my life.

I appreciate any leads, stories, or experiences... Also, feel free to PM me for specifics.

Thanks for listening.

Good news - I figured it out (with some help from a good friend) and am good to keep growing!

I won't be THAT guy and get pissy for not getting responses. But I think I posted this in the wrong place ;)

Carry on. Let's keep growing!

I think when most of us need a lil consultation we post a thread or do some research here or similar resources. I dont think your gonna find many guys here hiring grow consultants.
If anything they probably ARE the grow consultants...lol

haha yea I hear you there. But I didn't need a GROW consultant (I do that just fine ;) hit 26.4% THC on some animal cookies last cycle with 1.8% terpenes) I needed a business consultant, since CA is going to require licenses for ALL cultivators starting in 2018.

But I have a friend who is an attorney and I'm squared away.

I do quite a bit of consulting, mainly on the mechanics of cultivation and build outs. But I spend most of my waking hours with attorneys, activist, growers, store owners and one thing is for sure, everyone is completely confused about what the state of the industry is right now. Especially in or around LA, It was bad enough with prop D and its really getting worse with the roll out of MMRSA aka 266, 243 and Senate bill 643. So many localities have now put bans on mmj and specifically cultivation to try to meet the March 1st dead line that was mistakenly put in place with the passage of these laws that it is literally stifling the forward progress that we have made over the last 19 years. Couple that with law enforcement agencies that thoroughly enjoy destroying, utilities companies that are all to happy to take your money but still sell you out, banks that wont take your money and neighbors that are all hip to what you are doing and you have a truly fuckt environment to try to operate in. The good old days of hiding in plain sight are seemingly behind us, but you don't have to many viable options but to moonshine. Some free advise "take it for what its worth" is to keep it stealthy and stack some chips because when areas begin to open up for business you are going to be trying to compete against multi-million dollar investors that are dying to stake their claim in the green rush. Best of luck out there.

Thanks fsttimes81, much appreciated insight... that's the sad reality of it all. I found a 'friendly' town quite a ways from my home, and am setting up there for now at least until the moratoriums end... but the commute is just a part of staying alive. I would rather drive two hours one way to do what I love than spend a lifetime in a job I hate.

my gf is a civil attorney and when she researched all of the municipal codes she was amazed at how much of a clusterf*** this legislation is. People who are trying to stay compliant while supporting their families just can't do that anymore. It's like they're trying to force us all into breaking the law!

Anyway, end rant. Hopefully the moratorium will end well and we can all go back to our regularly scheduled lives.
