I haven't been paying very close attention to the cannabis growing scene for a while. Life's been pretty crazy for me lately, in a good way, rest assured. While I am not a millionaire, or even close, my life is pretty well blessed with love and abundance. My three kids and wife are all my best friends and we have fun learning about life together. We also have lots of animal friends here... happy dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and rabbits. These many aspects of life have taken up much of my free time. This free time was once used to participate in online cannabis discussion, writing articles, taking bud shots, etc.
I love growing, learning about growing, experimenting, fucking up, kicking ass, sharing what I learn, keeping up with the newest "elite" cuts, always trying to figure out how to grow better smoke. I've missed a lot here, I'm sure.
So, what's new? What did I miss? Can someone summarize the last year for me? I don't have the time to read through a year's-worth of posts, it would be easier if someone were cool enough to throw together a quick summary of what they think of the past year at IC (please, no dramatic content/gossip in thread). I can then use these suggestions to shorten my catching up time.
Here's what I know has changed so far:
Cannabis is winning legally, and it really seems like the end of prohibition is currently unfolding, for real! I am even a legal med patient where I am. That's neat. A fundamental change in humanity is possible right now, if not probable. I believe this plant is on this Earth to heal humanity when it most needed it. That time seems to be now.
There's a cut called "GS Cookies" everyone seems to be loving. Well, not everyone, but most love it. Hype? Truly unique? Anything else new out there recently?
Did anyone ever find out which was the authentic origin story of the OG Kush genetics? Was the "OG" name ever firmly established? Ocean Grown? Original Gangsta? just Original Kush?
There seems to be some concensus that OG was the direct ancestor of the Sour Diesel AND Chemdog? I thought Sour was a nl#5XmssXsomething-else? Now it's OGKush??? Where and how was this determined?
Hash oil has become a "thing" now. I've tried it, hooked myself up with a proper dabbing setup, killer oil... still don't like it. The harshest hit of my life was from a dab... and several of the other harshest hits of my life were also dabs. To me, smoking clean-burning cannabis in a FAT joint is still the most ideal way to go because the taste and the high are both so fully expressed. I believe dabbing will be as popular a way to smoke cannabis in the future, as a gored-out apple, or modified pop/soda can. I think it's a dangerous way to get twice as high but with only half of the available cannabinoids. To me, the "oil" high is HUGE but incomplete. And the reason I said dangerous is... there are too many red-hot things being heated, set on tables next to flammable items, fires, skin burns, lung burns, table burns. A joint is red-hot, but it is always the center of attention when it's lit. Dabbing nails are not always the center of attention when they're red-hot, leading to a much higher chance of some harm coming from it. My prediction, (just for fun) dabbing will be left behind as a fad within the next few years.
Any new grow tips, tricks or gadgets for growing indoors?
I appreciate any energy you spend in responding to this.
