Hey all just trying to get my dripper system up and runnin, I am planning on running a submersible pump off a relay to the 24 volt timer,

so i got this 1000 gph activeaqua pump and cant get any flow through my valve system ?? i can get a trickle but i dont thinks its enough for a sprinkler head>>

any chance this pump cant do a measly 20 psi ??

its a pretty cheap valve think that could be it??

:thank you:

Just curious, how big of a drip system are we talking? 1000 gph is a pretty big pump...

thats what im saying the pump should be way more than i need,, i want the runn to the valve to be about 30 ft and theres a 4 foot lift there also, the drip system should end up being about thirty lines, nothin too large , bout 40 fto of black tube
i figured i would neeed a pressure reducer if anything,,

I agree the pump is over kill so why dont the valve work ??

not getting what your 'valve' is for? or where it is in relation to the pump.

there are pumps that work on different principles too. eg high pressure lower volume or low pressure high volume. wot have you got (brand means nothing to me)?

and ... is yr pump self priming or does it need to be primed?

is it lifting at the suction end or it it immeresed in yr supply? is it hooked to a pressurised supply?

come back, Y'all ...

Not sure what you mean by the "30 foot valve"

What size black tube you using? Your 1000 GPH should be plenty but if you have long 1/4" feeder runs that's the problem. Also, I've gotten some 1/4" feed tube before that was real narrow on the inside and wouldn't allow me to do much with.

With a 1000 GPH pump and 40 ft of black tube, I'd want that to be 3/4" black tube with the most minimal 1/4" feeder lines off of that.....

How many drip emitters?
Pressure compensating emitters?
How many Gph or Lph are the emitters rated for?
What size main line?

Have you read the pump curve chart on the active aqua?

this is a little old, but i have the same exact problem pretty much. i have 33 pots, in a 2 foot by 4 foot area (im doing baby lettuce mixes in an aquaculture system) its 3 rows with 11 plants, on about 3 inch centers. currently i have an old 160 gph pump, lift about 2 feet all on 1/4in vinyl tubes and 1/4 inch emitters. im thinking i have to get a larger feed line off my pump, then progressively get smaller tubes to the emitters, i dont think im getting enough psi or volume from the pump either. drip systems generally dont go off of this type of pump i assume, i need a diaphragm pump?

I think those types of pumps will flow the advertised rates but not at a constant pressure like they would off a residential water source like city water lines or well pump systems that maintain at least 20psi or greater. I've never tried the pressure compensating drippers but by and large the emitters are used on residental pressure or with special irrigation pumps and those hydro pumps just can't maintain it even with the higher flow pumps imo.
peace,
