So much for starting small... InducedSerenity's ongoing 2kw First Grow!

Yeah, whatever works for you! I already can't wait until the next harvest and it's at least 45 days away!

Damn heat wave! It was 85 in my place today and the buds in the veg/drying box are already starting to dry out quite a bit! I put the exhaust fan on a timer to just go on for 30 mins every 3-4 hours, and I think I will still have to jar tomorrow night :(. Another lesson learned!

damn, why didn't you guys warn me how much trimming popcorn buds sucks?! Spent hours last night cutting the buds off of branches and into 1/2 gal mason jars - got 5 jars of large buds, 3-4 jars of really small ones and most of a jar of shake/tiny popcorn buds for cooking or bubble hash. I checked on the hygrometers in the big bud jars this morning - 71! I was stoked, i was scared it was too late for them, but I guess not. I'll be burping them as needed, but I need more calibers.

I have a bigger scale on the way but I weighed out one jar of large buds and it was a little over 2 oz, so I guess yield is at or over an lb. Not bad for how fluffy the buds are, and my current grow looks like the buds will be a lot more manageable!

Certainly looks like the year of planning is working out.

You're all set up with with a nice cycle of staged plants rotating through your rooms.

Damn nice work.

Very nice work Induced. I see guys on their tenth grow that didn't do that well. Hat's off!

hey all! sorry for slacking hardcore on the thread, real life has been hitting me a little hard lately.

pulled a (somewhat disappointing) total of a pound from the Hogsbreath, and it's curing happily. a good few ounces of that was popcorn, unfortunately, but i'll live ;). It's happily jar curing and smelling good.

The PPP and OGMK are at day 35 and they EXPLODED! I finally have 2KW going - flipped my 6 vegging PPP and repotted 3 clones from 9oz cups to 2 gal geopots when I realized the 6 wouldn't be enough - going with 2 gal pots from now on.

Pics coming in a couple of hours. Just finished building my 2nd flower room tray, and I'm going to cut and install the blumats on it while waiting for "sunrise" to snap some pics for you guys.

peace to all and thanks for the nudge IF! thank you guys for your help and support.. pics in a couple hours!

Day 35 Flower pics

As promised, here are a couple of shots! I really need a better camera... other girls are at day 8 but there's not much to see there yet. Clones vegging in cups and I'll be cutting new ones from the newly flipped girls on Saturday.

I think next round might be 9 OGMKs since I have so many of them rooted, but we'll see how they produce compared to the PPP.

I'll post dried HB bud shots and hopefully better overview pics and what not this weekend. I'll be making some more hash too when time permits :tiphat:

If those are images from a shitty camera... well, it must be a decent view while you are tending to those ladies.

Thanks for the pics...

That second shot (canopy) is more frost than green.

Nice job keeping those ladies healthy.

Looks awesome.

ugh, I've barely been home all week! thank goodness for blumats, I'd die without them, or just still not have a life! Pics coming up in the next day or 2... sorry to be slacking but it's nice to have a life again lol.

hope everyone is doing well!

Hey guys,

sorry, work's had me out of the house a lot more than usual.. blumats are officially my heroes.

Sorry for the one horrible pic, but I took 8-10 and they are all ridiculously yellow. I'm gonna have to start feeding more silica because the girls that are nearly done (left side, obviously ;)) are leaning over like crazy, but I didn't have time to figure out a solution to tie them up or anything... they'll have to live. They're getting HUGE!

Looks like PPP will finish before OGMK... not sure how i'm gonna deal with that flush but we'll see.

Have you used Silica a lot before? I'd never thought of it helping later in flower with heavy leaning plants....Hmmmm, usually I thought it just added strength before they got to that point. Anyways its looking awesome bro! Seriously great work, the plants look clean and healthy. Looks like this will be one sweet yield too. PEACE

cali, i haven't, and I should have been more specific - I meant I should add it to my vegging res as well as during stretch... but I just hate how it spikes the pH for days - My blumat tanks with GH Flora series has rock solid pH, so I have been sporadically hand-watering the coco with nutes + silica.

I read somewhere that someone bubbles water with silica before adding other nutes and putting it in a res to stabilize pH, I think I'll give that a shot and report back, because I don't really have the option of adjusting pH 1-2x/day.

I'll try to get some photos up in t he next couple of days, I've been away from the garden a lot recently.

I can't be too helpful, because I'm making statement based on a shotty memory, but: I've seen strange leaf development using some silica supplement (Rhynoskin?) as specified on the label. Be careful, and watch your canopy.

Flexing of the stem and limbs throughout the life-cycle may produce the desired effect (like the first step of supercropping (a bit more gentle) without the final bend/crush). But this might be too time consuming if you are already slammed by work.

Regardless, best of luck...

And...

More pics please.

Thanks for being as diligent as you are keeping this thread alive IS. I ordered Blumats too and am glad to come across them. I just wanted to ask if you wouldn't mind showing a pic of a Smartpot with a Blumat in it. More like a ground level shot? And forgive me if I missed this, but you are using a 20 gallon reservoir with a pan to catch any runaways? Is the reservoir simply a rubbermaid container? Or do you have one that fits the space you are utilizing?

OGMK - she surprised me, this plant looked really weak when I got the cut but i'm impressed:

You asked for it, you got it! Regarding the strange leaf formation, was it perhaps in early veg? I'm noting some plants are twisting their leaves up a bit and tossing single leaves out where the others aren't. Possible causes: being rootbound / underwatered in 9oz cups of coco for too long, possibly silica?

Pics of this:

Look at the plant in the middle row on the right - ogmk with lots of single leaves:

Pebbles,

Thanks for dropping in! Questions and comments are always welcome, although I seem to be a bit slow to reply lately. I actually run Geo Pots, which are square and stronger and more stable (imo) than smart pots, but here is the pic you asked for. These are 2-gal geo pots with blumats on a homemade table / tray. 10-gal res about 7 feet off of the ground and 10-gal catch res at the bottom.

[edit]Pebbles, will show you a better pic shortly if you wanted to see the actual coco/blumat. let me know.

Actually yes IS, I would like to see a shot of a Blumat in coco. I am using a soiless mix that works well but am open to alternatives.

Are you finding the ten gallons reservoir to be sufficient? The catch reservoir doesn't really fill up does it? Being that the Blumats put out only enough water to keep the medium moist.

Very clean table iS... beautiful build.

And things are going on schedule. And easy. From the beginning. You must have helped the Buddha cross the road in some previous incarnation.

The effect of silicone (as I recall) was inconsistent color (it appeared to be effecting metabolism) and a very thick (almost cactuslike) leaf. Leathery. I should also note that the plants were overvegged in too much compaction under too little light, were very leggy and the silicone was an effort to assist in structure... so the general ill health may have played more of a role than the additives.

As for your leaf deformities/strangeness... there is a lot of stuff that goes on chemically when a plant transitions to rooting then back into veg. I've seen that kind of behavior before and see plants grow out of it.

Were your cuts taken in flower? If so, there's even more stuff going on hormonally in there.

From my chair, that PPP looks ready to be ready.

Thanks for the update.

Things look awesome.
