I have heard ALOT of the dead, but this So Many Roads was just somethin else... you can almost hear the pain in Jerry's old, exausted voice... its pretty magical

if you heads haven't heard the Shoreline 9-18-94 So Many Roads ,ya just gotta hear it.. the rest of the concert is fairly mediocre, but that one song stands above the rest in how great and powerful it is..

hey, this is post 420 for me..

HnL, you wouldn't believe the size of the fish I caught a few hours ago... fish of a lifetime.. biggest fish I have ever SEEN in person.. I was havin terrible luck, so i tied on a green wooly worm as a last ditch fly.. I let it sink to the bottom and then wiggled the crap out of it.. a trout bit down hard and went straight for the bottom.. it took me ten minutes at least to bring him up.. it was like raising a cinterblock.. this rainbow was at least 28 inches, maybe more.. possible even thirty inches.. I couldn't get my hands around him.. grandpa trout had a big hooked jaw too.. it was perfect

I just wish I had a camera.. and a freakin NET!!! christ it was hard to land him!! I will never forget it.. I still can't get over how big, fat and healthy he was.. he wasn't the prettiest trout as far as pattern or color, but a wonderful fish none the less

just for you guys, I'll humor you with all the details.. and yes, of course I released grandpa... I want another fisherman to catch that fish- my experience should be shared, not eaten! I caught him in the mill pond above the Elk River in ********right behind *********. I didn't have a camera or a net.. the only way I could hold him to wedge the hook out of his lip was to hold him against my side and flatten the barb and pull it out... I could barely hold on to him.. this dinosaur fish did not like being held

I also caught him on a medium size dark green wooly worm with a bright red butt and a bullet head.. Im goin back tomorrow and see if I can raise another monster

It is really something to raise such a fish in still water with a seven foot, 3 weight fly rod.. very hard to keep the fish from spitting the fly out

and back on topic, i just realized your post said 94, i must have been baked as hell when i initially posted, as i thought you were talking about 04. even though the last "the dead" shoreline show was sept. 03. what a long strange trip, eh?

but jerry so many roads are where its at. 7-9-95 has one of the most emotional i can think of, jerry is just screaming at the end. also 6-23-92 (i think it is) i really like...

na I wouldn't worry.. unlike other ffishermen, I don't closely guard my secrets so much.. I don't want to hide where to catch monster fish.. that is, unless me tellin everybody would possibly endanger the honey hole or how pristine it is... I trust you guys aren't wormers who leave litter everywhere you fish and you don't just throw the trout back in the water like it's a bluegill
As long as I know you well enough to know you don't do any of that shit, I'll tell ya where the fishing's hot

Id be much more concerned giving secrets out at a forum like a NC trout forum. that would be a dangerous move.. it has happened where someone comes out and pinpoints where he caught a monster and a day later, there would be 3-5 people there.. Ive seen it a few times
