So I'm having an interesting bout of Paranoia

So I have a big property (100+ acres out here) and I'm at least half a mile to a mile from any people.

However, I live next to a water channel. It's a really cool beachfront property where a ton of bigger tankers and cargo ships go by my house. This morning an Army Corps of Engineer boat has passed by my property a couple times pretty close. This normally wouldn't bother me in the least.

But I'm using Apollo Digital Ballasts that knock out my satellite TV when they're on. I wonder if I'm fucking with the ships GPS and satellite communications as they pass by my property because of all the RF I'm throwing out.

I'm completely legal but no one wants authority figures in their day. Also I wonder if I could get a fine or some angry cops at my place for disrupting ship communications?

Yeah it's probably just paranoia after smoking some Heavy Duty Fruity. Looking up that boat and it's mission online, says it's surveying boat to do studies on the channel. I'm probably good but still I'll let you guys know if the man comes a knocking.

Paranoid response I would say . Sadly it is embedded deeply within many of us who are now legal medical patients . I grew underground for 20 years and to this day I am still a paranoid one even though I follow our state medical law . Cable company did not like my digital ballasts but they worked around them once they realized what signal they were receiving lol

I wouldnt worry about it. Chances are the equipment on the ship is somewhat shielded from what would be minor interference of your equipment. Think about all the equipment on the ship itself that can generate interference. Lights, generators etc. The critical components on the ship are not going to be effected by your digital ballasts.

if it did you would have a good lawsuit.. the gov don't like citizens being able to have the power to disrupt comm...

I think you should be okay.

I think that's somewhat healthy paranoia and good thinking/understanding.

+ you are legal....

if you do get a knock on your door, I am sure you will be able to talk things through.
I guess you could prepare what you would say, could say.

it's not like you are violent criminal

when there will be a problem, I am sure they will come and let you know
+ if their equipment can't work, they got a lot of resources to make it work, they will figure a way

I think you should be okay

you could always call them from a pay phone and ask them ? or email them from another computer ?

Just to update this, of course it was stupid paranoia.

The Army Corps of Engineers were surveying the river I'm on last week and were dredging it this week. Really cool to watch them work over the river while sitting on my deck smoking a joint.

Also got an AM radio and checked for RF interference. I am throwing like crazy. I will definitely replace these ballasts if/when I ever go back to civilization.

Thank for the support guys. :D

it was good to see you satisfied in your assessment of the situation, I'm certain that you've read through SpaceTokers Anti-surveillance thread, he'll never get a good nights sleep imo.

I reckon your AM radio test was performed fairly close to the source of interference?

I'm just wondering how far out the interference would effect equipment.

Hmm... that would be an interesting experiment. I'm on 100+ acres so I should be able find how far out that can be detected. I might get a handheld radio and test it out tomorrow.

Yeah by the way, thank goodness I'm in the middle of nowhere. These Apollo ballasts would be completely unusable in any sort of city or neighborhood or anywhere around people. Not to talk shit, I bought these super cheap, it doesn't surprise me that they have a bugaboo. But I can't imagine these things would be usable in 99% of most grows.

Aside from being a beacon for authorities, cable guys and thieves to easily key on, they're pretty nifty.

For some reason each and every time I see this kind of content, I think mobile spark gap transmitter. Too many late night movies about good wars.

damn when I get blazed I just sit back and say bring it ...lol...never been the paranoid type..but I am extremely cautious in everything I do.....

Finally got around to driving around my property with my AM radio on. I would say the interference from these ballasts goes out about 150-200 yards and gets stronger as you get closer. You don't notice it unless you're looking for it until about 50-75 yards in and from there in, the static is so strong you don't get anything.

It would be unbelievably easy to key in on a house with these ballasts if you know what you're looking for. Really not a fan of these.
