SO, I just pissed dirty...

I don't even remember the last time I got high, I scrapped my grow months ago and haven't even been around anything for a long long time. I am on probation for a non drug related misdemeanor offense and just tested positive for marijuana. He called me in and asked me when the last time I smoked and I told him I didn't even remember and that there was no way I could have tested positive for anything let alone pot. Then as we were sitting there a faint second line started to show up(two lines neg, one line pos) and he said he would give me the benefit of the doubt and let me leave.

Am I screwed or would he have had me arrested right then and there?

I am freaking out and have no fucking clue how I even came close to testing positive as I have been clean for a long long time.
Everytime my dogs bark I look out the window, I am going out of town tomorrow and had to get a travel pass and now I am scared they are gonna try to pick me up out of state.

are you a heavier guy? a friend of mine (who is quite large) showed a positive after 4 months without smoking. THC gets stored in fat cells and can linger for a long time in heavier individuals.

I was worried about that, it happened to me a long time ago too. It took nearly 6 months to pass back then but the thing was I was a VERY heavy smoker then.
I was a once a month if that the last time I was smoking.

I still wish I knew how it works if they are gonna violate you, surely he wouldn't have let me walk just to arrest me later...

I for some reason thought that having smoked pot wasn't illegal but smoking,possesing, blah di blah was. Any one know for sure?

ok, first thing is if you are on MISDEMEANOR probation I wouldn't stress it at all. Secondly, any line in the test area, given the control line shows up, is a negative and cannot be counted against you. If they wanted to nail you, they'd send it into the lab, and you are so far under the cutoff that they would have wasted their time, which they probably know, IMO you are fine.... don't sweat it... if they were gonna violate you they'd have told you right there....

Something else to consider..... Go to a local detox/treatment and voluntarily take a UA and have them fax it to your PO... will put you in good standings...

yes THC likes to store in fatty acids inside cell walls..... so the heavier you are the longer it can stick around......

I feel like a dick cause I he went out of his way to get me a travel pass and now he thinks I am screwing with him. I am gonna do the secondary piss test when I get back in town and give it to him, I feel bad about the whole thing, beyond being scared of goign to jail over it...

I think you're fine dude. The second line showed up, a little delayed, but it still showed up. He would have taken action right then and there if he thought there was grounds to bust you.

I was on probation before and had a hot urine. He immediately got paper work together for me to start attending AA/NA meetings.

don't go out of your way to mention this, but next time you see him, look him in his eyes and tell him the truth just like you are telling us....tell him you don't want him to thinking you are trying to get one over on him, or not follow the rules of your probation because of the fact he did go out of his way to help etc....my logic tells me that probation officers are usually not the most hardcore cops or have done somthing not smart to wind up with a lame job like theres....I was one probation one time only, luckily I never had to pee because I wasn't as careful as you seem to be...but I met him only once, on my court date and he seemed to hate his job....but then again, I was in court for alchohol related offense and maybe he didn't see other drugs as an issue? but either way....I doubt you've got too much to worry about at all if he just let you walk out free....he may mention it to the judge come time for you to appear in court....but I really doubt that....but like i said, if you want, just mention to him...good luck

make sure the secondary is clean before you give it to your PO. maybe it was just a false positive.. shit happens.

You should buy some home thc testing kits. they're really cheap on ebay. It's probably not the exact test they use, but I think the ppm count is universal so it should be close. At least that'll tell you whether it was a fluke thing or if there's really THC in your system. Just be careful of the expiration date, shouldn't be a problem if you're gonna use em soon tho.
