So I have Powdery Mildew

I have been reading a bit on it and my take is that I am basically going to have to grow a new mother plant as the plants themselves are infected.

Just want to make sure as I take clones from flowering plants and have no mother plant.

Thanks for any help as I don't want to grow another mother. Thanks.

I have this off and on and I deal with it by using a sulfur burner. Usually I use the burner in my mother room about a week before I take my clones, then near my cloner again once they are well rooted and vegging ( I do some Vegging in my cloner) and I use it one more time after they are in flower about 2 weeks. That's it.... and they make it the rest of the way through flower with no PM. Some things to be careful about include:
Run the burner on a timer for 4 hours during the dark period, or turn the lights off if you are in Veg
Don't use the burner if you have a just sprayed your plants with oil, like Neem, or a Pyrethrum.
Don't use the burner in a really humid environment.

Apparently the sulfur will fry your plants if you do any of the above, but it does work well if used properly.

Also, keep your humidity below 40%, if you can.

A more organic option, or if you grow in your house, (No sulfur burner in your house, it stinks!) is 1 tsp baking soda in a quart of water, with a few drops of dish soap... spray this again, after lights out, every couple nights for a week, and it should help. It lowers the PH of the leaf surface so the PM can't grow.
Happy Growing!

I am having trouble with what you want OP... Are you saying you want to keep the cut but your mom and flowering plants are infected? Or are you saying that you don't want to keep the cut and don't want to have a mother of it? I don't really understand. As for the PM I would suggest lowering your RH, increasing airflow, and taking up a systemic treatment to get rid of the PM. Foliar sprays of milk or baking soda with a spreader should be your first step. There are a bunch of threads about dealing with PM here on the boards so that is my 2 cents but I would suggest finding some more opinions in those threads.

If you wash your plants with soap and water several times a day it will kill mildew and prevent it from re-occuring. For more long term protection look on ebay for Elite, Rally or some other products. If it's registered for use on tomatoes, it'll be fine.

I personally use Elite made by Bayer. I even sell it to the local hydro store for $20 for a weighed amount for a 1 gal mix (enough to spray about 75 plants.

Milk is very good against powdery mildew... Using a 15% milk to water mix and spraying on the plant every 4-5 days will help keep the mildew down to a minimum. Dont use more milk... Using over 30% milk will cause fungus to grow. And you can use skim milk if youd like aswell.
