Snype's RDWC Construction Tutorial For 250 Watts - 7,600 Watts!

Snype you mentioned you needed to buy some of the trays and lids. The trays are everywhere since they still make them but it took me a little while to find somewhere that actually has the right lid on stock. I ordered my lid without holes earlier this week from www.kalyx.com for $99.90 with shipping and I got confirmation that it shipped. I've had to hound these guys to make sure they actually have it in stock and send me the right one. I was expecting it a few days ago from Amazon but then got email that they in fact don't have the lid with holes even though it is listed In Stock on the website. Just figured I'd point you in the right direction if you were looking.

Here is a pic of the set up if you or anyone is interested. View Image

I proportioned your ten gallon formula for the EZ 60 with my unit which holds 3 gallons and filled the reservoir with the following solution:

3 gallons tap water
6 mL GH FloraMicro
9 mL GH FloraBloom
0.9 mL Superthrive
3 drops regular unscented Clorox

I added GH pH down to lower the pH from 6.6 to 6.0 according to my BlueLab pH probe. My solution measures 320 ppm (500 scale). The temperature of the room is around 77F and the solution is at 76F.

The clones are underneath a 23 W CFL roughly 24" high.

The room has been completely stripped and floor, walls and ceiling vacuumed. Need to purchase some poly to put over the carpet before Veg A starts. Feeling pretty good about where I'm at right now but it all depends on these roots so I'm buckling down.

Sounds and looks perfect! Just make sure you don't use a Clorox that has the word "Ultra" in it. The "Ultra" contains some bad chemicals that will kill your plants. Other than that, there's the ChemDD still strong! Wait until you see what she can do in RDWC! If you eventually upgrade to more lights with RDWC, she gets even bigger buds from all the cross light. 4,000 watt rooms with 2 x 10 bucket systems are my favorite.

Maybe the company you are using doesn't carry them any more but it's possible that Botanicare still makes them. When I order the lids, I go right through Botanicare. I'll be contacting them soon to see what's up.

How's it going

Just popping in to catch up with your thread and see how you n Snypette are doing hopefully you still kicking ass in your own grow n construction is going smoothly. Always good info in here. I been considering trying a gavida 1000 DE. Still doing homework on it... Opinions wanted.

Yeah I'll be making the switch to Gavita DE's real soon. Any rooms that are 8', I'm going to get the Gavita 750 DE and the 10' rooms I'm going with 1,000's. Can't wait!

Oh yeah my dad has been on my case for years now asking where the lollipops are haha
LOL! I gave you a tutorial on how to make them! It's still on this site. When things slow down over here we will try an catch up sometime. Snypette comes to your state every weekend but I'm still stuck here with no license. I think I'll be able to get a license within the next 2 months though. Once I have a license I'll be back in that state more often and will be around to catch up. Glad you're finally able to make the switch to RDWC. And it helps to have my ChemDD cut as well! I almost lost the cut again and was thinking about how I was going to find you but I got her back from someone else I gave it to. Luckily.

You can try your luck with Botanicare but I just had a conversation with them the other day. Guy told me they discontinued the lids, the reason for which being to focus mainly on trays because the lids weren't selling. He said they do still have 50 in stock as of like Wednesday and since they just recently discontinued the lids in December, some online stores may have them in stock still. Obviously you will verify this info for yourself but I was stressing hard trying to find this thing.

Believe me man I cannot wait to get more lights going. I tried to make it happen this time but couldn't. I'm trying to get my posts up cause I'm dying to talk to you about this system. I've been making some connections to things I learned this past semester about process control and I think you'd be really interested to hear about it. Maybe it can be something in the future that will increase the productivity of the system even further.

Shit, I just checked my links and they don't work so I guess you're right. That sucks. I think I still have 5 of those tray lids with the holes left for myself. I'm going to try and find a place to get them made for the future but maybe I'll get lucky and Botanicare can help me with that somehow. Yeah I'd love to hear what you learned! For now I'll leave you with some ChemDD buds grown in the RDWC systems so you can see what you can expect when grown right. I can get 112 buds like this in a 10 bucket system with 2,000 watts:

Also don't forget all the other mids and bottom buds as well!

I only have 8' ceilings.

If it were me, I'd go with the Gavita 750e DE. From the information that I'm seeing, I'm going to convert my 4,000 watt Lumatek rooms to 4 x 750e DE's and it looks like it would yield similar results as 4,000 watt Lumateks with 25% less electricity. So now 4,000 watt rooms turn into 3,000 watt rooms.

Gavita's are great, used the 600 SE, plasma 41.01, and now using the EL2 for my new e series. STILL I would love to try the 1000w DE

If you switch to gavitas let us see that room!!

I suppose I'd have to go with the 600 or 750 then

I'm planning on adding a vertical 600 W HPS on either side of the two rows (or columns however you look at it). I will have the lights available for use roughly 3 weeks into flowering in the RDWC room, as they are currently being used for my soil plants in a separate room, so it should provide great light coverage for the sides of the plants which I hope will be pushing 50" by then. That will be a happy sight to see.

600 SE has no watt options only works with 600w, 750e can go from 400/500/600/750w to 825w giving you way more options, and its a double ended lamp, its more efficient

Compared to a 1000w you will save almost 20% on electricity

I have used the 600 like I said, and I would recommend the 750, the extra money spend will benefit you later if you want to upgrade from 600w or dial in if having temp problems! Beside double ended lamps are bad ass!

Hey man, I will be starting construction of the two row, six site system once the water pump arrives in a few days. Went through the parts list and construction tutorial and feel confident that I will be able to put this thing together effectively. The only question I have is regarding the 0.5"PVC pipe used for the feed line to and from the water pump to the controller/epicenter. You have listed a length of 57.25" for the 12 site system. However, in reading further, I did not notice a length for the six site system. I'm sure I'll be able to determine the proper length when I reach that stage of construction, but was wondering if you had that measurement handy in your records. If not...all good.

Sorry I have no measurements. When you lay everything out, you'll see how easy it is. It's hard to give a measurement for the 1/2" line because everyone builds the system a little different depending on the PVC pieces that are available at the time.

That's good to know and explains the nominal price difference when compared to the 1000 s

I have a plan

I have a plan

Lol. An idea about the next system anyway. Going for a six site system with the 20 gallon brutes. I have successfully located all the parts needed to use a 3" return pipes. I know possible overkill. And a 1500 gph pump with an venturi injector for the top feed return. And a couple 40 lpm air pumps. And for lights I am planning a 1000w digital hid has and two or four far red spectrum led's 300 Watters.

Washers

Washers

Hey man I'm in the process of cutting my own washers out of a sheet of 3/16" thick Neoprene at 50A durometer that I ordered. It's really not turning out the way I hoped though and now I'm stressing about constructing a functioning system that doesn't leak everywhere. Do you think I can have success manually cutting these things out? I know that my inner diameter definitely can't be too big and my outer can't be too small so I'm kind of using that as a guide. They don't look awful but not that good. Short of having them manufactured, you think my best bet will be to just take my time cutting these to as close to the proper dimensions as possible? I called that store in my area which had part #420 at one point but no luck there.
