Smoking to wake up (not wake n Bake)

So I've been working full time and going to school full time and I've been just wiped these last few days, thoroughly exhausted. and was wondering if smoking small amounts would help me wake up and get my synapses firing.

Eat an apple in the morning, that gets your day going better than a cup o' coffee. Smoking in the morning might not be your best bet, but if you don't have a lot to do that day, blazer 'er up. Time will fly.

I can't live without my coffee in the morning. Simply not an option. 20 oz does me ok. 40oz of it does me a lot better.

Get a pure sativa to smoke. I would say get some pure sativa bubble hash. That way it only takes a little toke to motivate you. Eat an apple or other fruit and drink some guava juice. Way better than caffine.

most mornings I have a 3 hour routine before I even go out and DO anything. first hour I drink a lot of coffee and vaporize a 'cano bag. the next half hour I down a lot of water. The next half hour I pee a few times, vaporize another bag and spend the next hour running.

I guess you can say it's 3.5 hour routine if you count the shower afterwards.. but god damn does that wake your ass up for the rest of the day.

Running is nice in the morning to wake you up for the rest of the day and I totally would but I have like 1 hour before I have to get to class. Maby I will start to wake up earlier each day.

I wish I could be so picky as to be able to have access to pure sativa bubble hash, for me it really is what I can get access too, luckily I have access to a few cool friends.

I just smoked a bong percie to see how it helps my sleep, the last one made it so I didn't dream which helped me sleep well.

I agree. I hear weed is rumored to trigger melatonin levels to increase. These are chemicals in your brain that regulate sleep among other things.

So, MJ is not a good sleep aid because it CAN mess with your bodys natural biological clock since you are artificially raising your melatonin levels. I think this is especially bad if you wake and bake a lot. The most pronounced effects are probably just lazyness in the morning when wake and bake and perhaps problems sleeping at night.

If you only smoked at night MJ might be an ok sleep aid since it would more or less prep your body for sleep. Of course, rarely do people only smoke as a night cap, sooooo.

To have ANY chance of using MJ as a morning booster I agree it needs to be some strong trippy kind of Sativa. I'm sure the guy out there who habbitually grow every new strain can tell you best. I can recommend Cinderella 99 as a strong trippy strain and usually very health. It also grows more like an indica so it will stay shorter and stouter than most Sativa. I think the Haze or Kali Mist would also do well for you though I've never grown or smoked enough of those to know for sure. C99 however has got to be up there, though it's a big dated now in 2007.

Not all Sativa's really have the trippy effect, but the ones that do can get you up and going sometimes. However, your still high and I'm not sure if you have anything important to do that smoking weed in the morning is ever a great idea.
Sounds like you just want a excuse to smoke :p

I think there are better legal herbs for exactly what you want. You might find a light stimulant herb or such combined with a good Sativa can really perk you up and keep you a little more focused than just the weed. The herbal suppliment market is strong and barely regulated, so it's a good time to take advantage of all that shit. You'll have to ask someone more into the herbalist thing though for the best recommendation. Im sure there are SOME good online places for that and some that are total BS. You could also just get Human Growth Hormone heh

Green Tea, guarana, and ginsing are some popular ones. Maybe even just try out some of those energy drinks. Herbs can be powerful, like ephedra, which is a potent stimulant which was banned by the FDA because of its overuse as a weight loss drug. Well no doubt you can lose weight on it, but also no doubt you can feel you heart beating harder when you take it. Sooooo, be careful with this self medication.

Maybe what you need is better sleep to help you feel more rested. Exersize is a great one. Either at night or in the morning or both, but it's so much more fun to just smoke weed as a solution :p

i quit smoking a year ago almost exactly(this is the econd time i quit smoking[last time i quit was for 3 yrs], i smoked a total of15 yrs). I think my lungs have been healing themself and i feel a whole lot better, i remember when i quit for threee years i was in top physical form and was 30 lbs lighter. I recently quit a desk job that was stressing me out, made me FAT(we sold candy and it was every where in the office, especially my favorite kind)...so i got fat....well i quit the job and now i wanna do exacly what your talkin about...or play full ocurt B ball..but its summer now so forget that.

well it probably won't help you wake up.. but it'll definitly get your mind off of being tired.

sometimes i roll a joint the night before to entice me when i wake up, so when i actually do, i have something to look forward too, and that wakes me up even more.

all this talking about smoking is making me a little hungry. gotta feed the head :smoke:

peace.

I think it depends on your system. My wife smokes in the morning and it wakes her up. If I smoke in the morning it leaves me feeling laid back and lazy. I hardly ever smoke until after dinner. She smokes all times during the day.....I will add that I take a mild pain killer for an injury and that enhances the weed....

In my opinion, it's a much better sleep regulation tool than synthetic melatonin pills... The lesser of 2 evils, if you will.

MJ never interferes with my sleeping. It may induce a nap if I get an indica buzz!

I just introduced a friend to some Cali Orange Bud I grew last year. It is very rare that anyone experiences anything I grew! Secrecy and all. I did not say that.

MJ doesnt cause problems with me falling asleep. However, it does cause issues with waking up after 8 or 9 hours and actually feeling refreshed.

To further clarify, I'll post my recent reply I answered via PM.

I've done some limited research on this, also, I base this off my own personal experience. I stand by my word, but when I say works better than coffee, I mean that it's better at waking you up; this is not a comparison of the amounts of caffeine; apples contain none.

A medium-sized apple averages 20 grams of carbohydrates--not nearly as much as in a sugary snack, but the apple would certainly be a more nutritious choice than, say, a candy bar. You could get even a bigger boost from locally grown apples: This season, dry summer decreases apples' moisture content, which concentrates the sugars in each fruit, making them delightfully sweet. Who wouldn't feel refreshed munching on a crisp, sweet apple? Also, factor in the chewing of the apple, which produces a considerabley (sp?) noticeable part in waking you up--Wouldn't you agree?

Still, that's not the same kind of boost people get from caffeine. They work in totally different ways.

Simply put, food boosts your energy by helping form ATP (adenosine triphosphate). If you're interested, a more in-depth post factum can be presented to support my vindication.

Try the apple!
