Smoking and driving...never again

After reading buzzerd's story of his amazing luck with that fireman I thought Id post my little story of getting really lucky. However this was with a popo believe it or not. I was with a roommate who wasn't cool with smoking pot so everytime I wanted to get high I had to go for a short drive and smoke it in the car. Well this one day I decided to fog out my car and go get some pizza. I get the pizza and I'm at a stop light. It was daytime but I thought nothing of the smoke since I had tinted windows.

Anyways all of sudden I start hearing something that sounds like someone is on an intercom but I'm blasting my music so I barely hear anything. So i turn my music down and look in my rearview mirror and I see a COP! I'm freaking out thinking there goes my clean record. Even the words coming out of his mouth are barely reaching my brain cause I'm such in shock. The only thing I remember him saying was something like "I saw you doing this last night, the next time I catch you I'm taking you in. Keep that stuff off my street." He follows me for a little while and then turns around. I just felt so saved.

The previous night I had gone to smoke with a buddy. We had to smoke it in the car in front of his apartment and his gf had actually called the cops because we were smoking. Thats what my buddy said but thats the only thing that made sense on how that cop knew I was smokin in the car the previous night. Or maybe that cop wasn't even talkin to me at the stop light. He wasn't directly behind me but behind the car to the left of me. Regardless I got scared straight into never fogging out my car again. After thinking about it I figured maybe there was smoke coming from my window because I had a wreck in which my door didnt fully shut makin my window open a little. It's the only way I can think of that he knew. Anyways thats my story. Be safe out there! I definately learned my lesson. I guess not all cops are bad guys.

Actually this is in Florida. About that gf who called the cops. If I remember correctly this is what happened. We smoked in the car and then went inside his place. I was introduced to his gf and then they went to talk. I sat on the couch while he went to talk to his gf. He came back out and was like you better leave my gf called the cops. She told the popo her bf and his friend had been smoking. Apparently she saw us in the car? I think he said something like that. This was like 2 years ago so its hard to recall. Anyways as soon as I heard that I wasnt waiting to find out if he was joking. I bolted lol.

About the cop not pulling me over. I thought about this and the only thing I could think of is, he ran my license plate and realized I had no criminal record or anything and he didnt want to ruin the life of a youngster? I guess its not totally farfetched cause one of my friends has gotten caught smokin with his friends in a parked car and all the cop did was make them break their piece Im just glad the cop had a kind heart, or had bigger fish to fry.

About 8 years ago I was riding around with 3 friends. 2 of which were underage. We just rolled a fat blunt and started smoking it. We were riding in my gf's mom's car :) As passing the blunt around once a motorcycle cop got behind me and light me up. I pulled off into a bank parking lot, he walks up to the passengerside rear door and tells my friend sitting there to hand him the weed. He just so happened to be holding on to it still, hands it to him. Cop tells us all to get out of the car. Ask where we got it. We told him we got it from some dude standing outside of a local chicken shack in the middle of hood. He goes into about a 30 minute lecture on why we shouldnt smoke and drive.

To sum it all up, he said, "I don't condone smoking weed, Just do it at your house behind closed doors." To me that was words to live by. He let us all go and we even got to keep the blunt. He broke it and half and threw it on the ground. We grabed it before we left.

This happened in Ft. Peirce Florida. I don't live there anymore.

so, what have we learned?

1. there is actually cool cops around (more or less)
2. GF's that don't smoke suck

and....

3. Many of us who have engaged in high-risk public behavior have a 'close call' story or six...

4. And then many of us learned, assessed the odds, and either changed our strategy, or grew out of it altogether...

the 'moose eater" has spoken the tried and tested truth(s) of the clandestine world in which we live. :chin:

i too have some stories of years past (many) that i would just as soon forget!

common sense is an aquired trait that many unfortunately never "master" to thier own detriment/peril! :badday:

>>>Only break 1 law at a time..<<<

Hi, Sneaky,

That sounds like one of my mantras.

I've said for a long time that there are two cardinal rules that every stoner should remember;

1.) Never break more than one law at a time (though the statutes have made this more difficult, as there's now six different charges for the same act),

and,

2.) -ALWAYS- know where your contraband is at!!! The last time in the world a person should be asking, "Now, where'd I put that baggie/etc.??" is when the blue and red lights are in the rear-view. Murphy's law says that no matter how hard you looked, and couldn't find it, 9 times out of 10 -they will-. ;^>)

Or their dogs will. Most police are easily fooled but the canine...never.

^^Cannine can be fooled, one time me n a buddy were pulled over and he had a qp of dro in his trunk. Dogs never smelled a thing, always keep your drugs in your trunk under the liftable tarp thing. Maybe it was just that it was a windy day but he never got busted. Always a good idea to stash your illegal items in your truck anyways reguardless of whether cannine can smell it or not.

^^^

Dogs' skills vary greatly from critter to critter, and conditions to conditions. Some dogs aren't worth a shit. Others can smell you coming a mile away, if they're working. The dog isn't constantly looking for dope; only if it's been commanded to search (unless it's a way badly trained pup). It doesn't give a shit about dope one way or another, other than the search precedes the dog's being given whatever toy or treat it gets as a result of its working.

A locked area, not immediately accessible to the driver or passengers, such as a truck canopy or a trunk of a car, often requires a warrant for a search.

Make 'em earn their pay.
