smoke report: kalichakra

Background:
Obtained seeds thru seedboo (great service, btw!). Planted seed, seed became female...you know the rest. Cut down in early Jan. been in jar 7+ weeks so its cure proper.

Observations: :bigeye:
Smells kinda piney. Not exactly the pungent dank stanky one expects from weed. Very understated 'green smell'. When crushed, can smell a hint citrusy.

Smoke: :joint:
I used a glass bong cooled with ice water. Lighter to bong...inhale!.....exhale...very smooth, has a slight floral quality smoke. I know most of us can't wait 7+ plus weeks after harvest, but if you can...I highly recommend it. It just makes the quality herb smoke better!

Effects: :abduct:
This non-dank, seemingly unassuming weed has a kick! Nice uplifting high...can do stuff, even real mild exercise (me anyway!)A little goes along way. Very cerebral, even elevates my mood a bit...

Conclusion: :2cents::chin:
This reminds me of the kind of high of Power Plant. I know folks usually prefer the dank smelling shit, but if you want an easy to care for plant that doesn't stink up the neighborhood or totally give you away, this would be a great choice. It's a great indoor sativa dom with some indica-like qualities. I kinda regard it as the poor person's Kali Mist!

Hey I N Hail and Herb...thanks for stopping by...

Herb: The only thing I can provide is a pic of the mother plant. I plan on replicating and documenting my kalichakra grow...hopefully I would have learned from my mistakes...

Looks like indian genetics indeed. Looks like the Guerilla's Gusto I still have a bit left of, which is northern indian crossed w southern indian. Looks almost exactly like yours.

There is a Indica pheno that stinks like hell, tastes like dirt and chunky yielding. I know some have said that Kalichakra is lacking a little, but I beg to differ. You gotta let then run for 10 weeks, not 7 or 8. Indy pheno I would give 8.5/10........sativa 9.0/10.

Thanks for these reports, y'all. I'm trying to decide of whether I want to go with Satori and/or Kalichakra next time out.

Glad the Kalichakra turned out nice for ya. Myself, I was very dissapointed with it.

I grew it alongside Satori and Hashberry which both turned out great but the KC sucked IMO.

It had a reasonable high, very average taste and my friends and I agree it is major headache weed! I gave away a few ounces of it to friends and not long after they passed it on too. A soon as the high wore off a nice headache would follow..

Maybe I grew out a different pheno than yourself.

I wouldn't grow it again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Mayan, go for the Satori. It is very nice.

Sorry it didn't work out for ya...my main concern was trying not to overfertilize, since the plant practically grew itself. Real easy to clone as well.

Didn't experience any of the headache symptoms either.

Great report man. And having grown this strain a few times I'd have to say you a RIGHT on with the way you described it. I will second everything in your report. It was definitely not the "danky" bud that many of us look for, but had a unique piney taste, and packed quite a kick with the stone. Due to unimportant reasons I ended up making most of my Kali into bubble hash, and was VERY pleased with the end product. Would say this is probably a great medical strain for some, but wouldn't say this is a connoisseur strain other than it's nice to have that "old school" taste now and again.
