Small Popcorn Buds

Hey guys,

I have a plant that is about 2 weeks into flowering but the buds are still pretty small and look like little popcorn buds. I just increased the lighting on it from 72 watts fuoro to 160 watts fluoro on just a single plant.

I also bought 2 kinds of fertilizer: 20-20-20 and 10-30-20. which of these ferts should I use on the plant to increase the size of the buds?

You have FAR to go yet grasshoppa - but your plant is looking healthy and happy, keep doing what your doing. 6 or 8 weeks more though.,,,

Use the 10-30-20 for flowering. Your plant will use a lot of phosphorus to produce those sticky buds. Also, for 2 weeks flower, those look really good. Some strains don't even begin to show sex for 2 weeks. It appears that you have an indica/sativa cross so you will probably be looking at flowering for at least another 6 weeks. They will really fill in nicely during this time. Don't sweat it man, you are doing just fine. Just another note; If you really want some big fat buds you may want to consider upgrading to a HID lighting system. You definately have enough room.

some strains take longer to fill out. this plant, papaya, l;ooked scrawny as hell but still yielded over 2 ounces.

yea....some start slow. Ive had strains that look like shit til about 4 or 5 weeks in and dont start packin on weight til the last few weeks.

your plants look good for fluoros man.

hell that looks pretty damn good for 2 weeks - they'll really fill in thatlast few weeks though, just be patient with 'em

Your plants look great downer!
Make sure to keep those fluoros as close as possible.

I would use the 10-30-20 for flowering also. when using ferts for the first time, I like to mix it according to the directions and then dilute it.

Starting your feeding schedule at 1/3 or 1/2 strenght, will ensure you don't overfeed and burn your baby.

More light= bigger buds.

Well here they are at week 3!!, still looking like popcorn buds but a 1/2 inch or so bigger. I also added the extra 100watt output cfl hanging there, and fertilized with 10-20-30. Tell me what you guys think!! thanks for all the previous comments and compliments as well!

dude u need to calm down. your plants start to really show bud site 3 to 4 weeks if your plants still look that same then you got popcorn . keep a close eye for male plants on the freebies. i got 1 female out of a skunk #1 freebie. god luck

Looking good. Just wondering what the temp and humidity is in their. That has alot to do with how big/compact they are.

yea- good fluoro setup. keep dem lights close. And don't throw a whole lot of nutes at it thinking it will make the plant take off. start with 1/4 strength nutes every other watering (or so) so you don't shock the plant. But you are at a point where you probably need to start adding some nutes if you haven't yet.
