Small clone with spider mites

Well, ill be damned!! This trainwreck clone i got is infested with spidermites!
I didn't even realize it until today. Ive never had a problem with spier mites, so i never knew the symptoms until today.. I noticed the white specks on new growth when i finally realized something wasn't right.. So i started checking the undersides of the leaves and things and sure enough i start to see things moving around and little eggs. Very hard to see..

Anyway, All i have vegging right now is 5 seedlings that have been out of the dirt for about 3 or 4 days now and this clone... Which is pretty small. I highly doubt the seeds will be affected. There so small still.. But I'm not sure...

So what i did was cut all off all the old leaf that was totally infested on the clone. Leaving only a couple nodes of clean new growth which appears to me to be unaffected so far.. I'm so pissed my friend brought this crap into my house when he knew the grower had a problem with spider mites.. But its too late too bitch now..

So, i guess my question is... Do you think that will eliminate the problem? Do spider mights live in the soil below as well? Theres really no growth in the garden to munch on anymore and i dont see anymore of them at all... and I'm pretty damn sure i got rid of all the eggs. It wasn't a total infestation of the garden just the clone i got.

What do you think?

neem oil from the hydro shop will kill em in a hart beat the 1 clone infested your whole grow erea and all plants should be treated honesty look at all them plants. as for spyder mytes in the soil not that im aware of soil gnats live there green sand or 2 inch of perlite on top kill's them out. also pest strips in the grow by the plants work nice for soil gnats, soil gnats lay larve in the soil the larve mature then come to surface to breed and repeate the cycle. while the larve are in the soil they can effect the root system if the infestion is real bad hence the green sand or perlite this material blocks the larve from escaping to surface and the adults to lay eggs under soil thus ending the cycle :)

I'm gonna keep an eye out the next few days. If i see more signs of them returning i think ill start to take it a little more serious.. I'm gonna bleach the walls and and clean up a bit..

I'm pretty sure Ive eliminated there little colony. The only green in the garden is what you see in the clone.. unless of course you consider these green enough.. Unlikely..

I did a check this morning and i found 1 lonely spidermite eating breakfast on the top of the biggest fan leaf. Picked him off and body slammed him against a wood table. He made a nice little green spot after that. :D

I don't see anymore of them or any eggs. So, well ride it out another couple days.. See whats crackin.. So far, its lookin alright

Thanks for the responses guys... I will try this neem oil if the situation ever gets out of hand. I believe i eliminated the problem as of now. Took at a look at them this morning again and i don't see any signs of them.. None at all. And the plant looks MUCH happier now. So i think cutting of all the infected leaf did the trick....

Ill still be keeping an eye though.. Thanks again guys. :)

Spider Mites can be a real pain and almost impossible to get rid of when i had them. The traveled with me from one location to another when i thought they were gone........Clean everything from lights to blowers.......everything.
