small air cleaner/purifier for odor control?

Hey was curious if I could use this (with a DIY carbon filter inside) to take care of my grow odor. I only have a 150w hps in a small cab, and as you can imagine without the proper fan its hard to keep temps under wrap. Right now temps are around +12 from ambient while pushing through a foot of extra ducting to a scrubber, and with the summer heat its expensive to keep my air on 72 or less all the time.

I have the 150 set up in a cooltube with a 110cfm fan for exhaust. I also have a 50cfm fan blowing on the bulb. I think temps should be ok if remove the scrubber and was able to use the air purifier sitting right above where the exhaust comes out. Think this method could keep the room from smelling?

I could either get an air purifier and set up the carbon filter in it for around $30...or invest in an inline which would be like $100 and blow some of my stealth by being loud

I would not remove the scrubber if I were you. Get one or two 6 inch fans and mount them inside your cab. This will certainly help keep your temperatuers down a LOT. Bear in mind I have an 8 inch vortex room fan hanging right below my 600, and when I added two 6 inch fans to just hang around and give airflow to the plants, it kicked the temps down a LOT. i have another pc fan down below the cooltube to circulate some air, but i wouldnt want more than that because it would just blow around a bunch of hot air and not exhaust properly

if the air purifier was right above the exhaust, like 4 inches away wouldnt most of the smell be scrubbed still? i'm not growing a forest, i only want like an oz a month

Even one plant can stink up a whole house. I suppose in your case you will just need a more powerful extraction fan hooked into your scrubber. Seems unwise to ever not use a scrubber even when running only one. I don't think air purifiers actually have enough activated carbon to effectively scrub cannabis odors anyways. Best of luck.

i guy told me that panasonic makes sum fans that are so quiet that youll think its broke he also said the more restriction he put on it the harder it blows like it made to push a certen cfm no matter how restricted just for the fun of it he made his duct run in 3 circles and it keeps the room cool then his old fan they come in 50cfm-380 cfm i hope they work like he says

yea i've looked into those as well
some people swear by em but i have seen some mixed reviews

plus i'de have to drop $100 at least for it and its quite bulky. It would have to sit on top of my cab which would look awkward out in the open, unless hidden with a box or something. if thats what it takes then i guess we'll see

sometimes it pays not too be cheap, but dont we all usually try to save a little money? (especially when your broke haha)

i was planning on making a custom filter with activated carbon. i figured their filter wouldnt work that well against smell, just for cleaning up the air quality.
