SM-90 question

I have plants indoors that will eventually go outside in a en closed greenhouse. The plants have thrips, was just wondering if spraying with SM-90 would it help kill them off? I also have Neem Oil, in the past i have mixed the two together. I was also thinking about pulling each plant to the side and strip off each leaf that has been effected before spraying?

I suggest you look up the life cycle of thrips. Google it.

I use Monterey garden spray spinosad, i spray plant and medium.

Good luck.

Me too. 3 times 5 days apart, early in veg takes care. That's become my routine as will for sure get thrips here in calif.

Im in California as well. you mean spray the medium like the top soil? i will be using a atomizer. Thanks

Yep. Been a minute since i read thier life cycle but i'll try my best to explain from memory. Thrip lay eggs in leaf, larvae emerge from egg then fall onto the top soil, where they eat organic matter like your plants feeder and tap roots their nasty little vectors of pathogens and diseases. You must not only rid them from your plants but rid them from you medium also. If you take your plants out and bomb your room you will kill the adults thrip in your room but not the young ones in your medium...

Im not a fan of strippin leaf so i wouldn't go that route myself.

Good luck

I spray the leaves, top and bottom and squirting the medium is fine but I count on the mosquito dunks to take care of the soil. Tiny amount of dunk sprinkled on soil surface, works here. I follow the directions from monterey spray for mix/use. Don't know why but spraying in veg takes care of the plants all the way, though this stuff is organic and can be used late in flower.

Noonin, everyone is telling you Spinosad for a reason, listen to them. It works, it's cheap, it's safe. Just do it
