Slow Growth?

I had a bag of some really fine Kush and found a nice seed in one of the buds and planted it in some soil i found in my shed left by the homeowners here before me, the soil appeared to be fine but had no perlite in it, i wasnt able to get any perlite so i just decided to go for it as the soil seemed to be nice and fluffy.
i have been watering with bottled spring water.
The seed took six days to sprout which is a bit longer than it has taken me previously.
I noticed the plants cotyledons appeard to have been cut or broken off and were nowhere to be found but the next set of leaves were already visable and appeared to be fine. the plant grew about 3 quarters of an inch in the next 3 days and stopped gaining height.
The leaves have grown very slowly and appear to be a bit pale, im positive im not over or underwatering so im wondering if its just week hybrid vigour or a nitrogen deficiancy or the PH of the soil is out of whack.
What could be the problem and what can i do to remedy it?
I bought this organic fertilizer http://www.raingrow.com/423.html from the nearest nursery and am wondering if i should give it a shot of that stuff or is it still to early?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :joint:

How old is it exactly? Don't give it any nutes yet. What kind of light is it under? What size pot is it in? If it is too big of a pot, then the underlying saturared soil will be hard for the plant to work into. Lack of oxygen can often slow things down from conditions being too wet, for too long. My guess is that it is one of those problems or the combination of both but we need more info. to help you.

It sprouted exactly 16 days ago, i put it outside in the day, it gets about 8-9 hours of direct sunlight a day and it is in a five inch pot.
The soil seems to be quite fluffy still.
I hope this helps, thanks

Hungry then. Did you figure your PH out yet? Make sure you allow the soil to dry out properly between waterings. Looks like a veg. formula but doesn't say what kind of micronutrients (if any) it contains.

No, ill definately get a ph testing tommorowand possibly try and find some fertilizer with micronutrients.
I make sure i always allow the soil to dry out before re watering.
If the PH is fine then should i go ahead and feed it? maybe half strength for first fertilization?

I would buy some good soil and transplant her into it. Then, when she gets about 1 foot tall you can start on a half strength fertilizer and go from there. What type of light are you using if you don't mind me asking?

Half a dose should be fine. I mention the micronutrients because many things can affect overall plant health. Dolomite lime is another nice thing to add to soil. Plenty of perlite and you are on your way. Bottled spring water is fine, I use distilled. Nutrients will drop the PH of your water. Adding nutes to tap/distilled mix is one way way of adjusting PH to your liking. It takes some messing around with but can be done. I add my nutes to distilled and have had no problems but I also feed less than I see many on here doing.

I put her outside in the morning, gets about 9 hours of direct light, i then bring it in and put in a window.

TGT has a point about replanting. Really hard to tell without seeing that plant. If you are going to feed it, go with a quarter dose instead.

Perhaps ill replant it, what size of pot should i transplant it into?
I'll try and get some pics up tommorow if it helps.

4 times is good: starter pot(tiny), adolescent stage pot, vegetative pot and then the flowering pot(from 2gallon pots on up depending how long you veg). I don't use particular sizes really. Beer cups make great starters. 20 ounce soda containers are also something that is cheap. Just don't flower in anything under a 2 gallon, in my opinion. Just don't jump up too fast in size.

So i took a trip to the local nursery and picked up some supplies today, got some Dutch treat soil, perlite and dolomite lime.
And repotted the plant, however when i was transplnting it there was pretty much no roots developed and all the soil fell away!
Exposing the main root to the sun (i dont know if this is bad?)
So i gently replanted it into it's new medium, hopefully the little gal (yes im still hopefull its gonna be a female) doesnt croak on me.
I also bought some of those jiffy seed starters and planted 2 more OG Kush seeds.
I have had great succes with these jiffy pellets before and am pretty sure these plants are gonna be alot better off than the first one.
Wish me luck folks!
