slow bud growth

How long on average does it take for bud to get ready for harvest after it 'sexes'. My plants flowered almost 2 months ago but growth has been painfully slow.

I have not added nutes yet, forgot to water them a couple of times which resulted in the plant looking like it was near dead. But since then they have recovered but the growth is still slow.

Recently some of the tips of the leaves have started turning brown. What does this mean?

The time for harvest is dependent upon the plant itself. Some will be ready in a few weeks and others won't be ready for several more than that. Indica's typically flower more quickly than sativa's, with hybrid's usually somewhere in between. Just watch your plants and look for signs of ripeness.

The only time I wouldn't add nutrients to the water I give my plants, would be the last two weeks for flushing purposes. Even then, I usually water cure so I don't even bother with the flush. Cannabis sativa L. is a pretty tough plant and will survive and reproduce with very little in the way of a healthy environment, just not very well. So, for maximum growth give them the maximum amount of nutrients they want.

Consistency is key to maximum growth. That means regularly scheduled watering/feeding, maintenance, training, etc. If it will make it easier, work up a schedule when you start a grow and cross off the task when it is completed. But consistency is a key component of any successful grow.

As for the leaf tips, there may be a few reasons for it. One that quickly comes to mind is a cal-mag deficiency. But, that is just a best guess on my part. Someone else will be better able to address your concerns, but you may have better luck asking that in the infirmary. If you do, be as detailed as you can and add pic's for better diagnosis.

if you don't have a jewelers loupe, you can pick one up on amazon, or radio shack for a few dollars. Try to get a good look at the trichome(crystals) heads. If they are mostly clear, you have time. They start to get cloudy, then begin to turn amber. Once they start turning amber, they are degrading, and it's time to harvest.

I think the typical ratio is 80% cloudy and 20% amber.

As for your leaf tips, when your plants are ready to harvest, and you are flushing or have stopped feeding them nutes, they will begin using the last of their food from the leaves, so I think that's normal.

If it isn't time to harvest, then the leaf tips turning color could be due to some deficiency, or maybe heat?

I hope this helps some. Good luck
