Hey guys,
I've got a few plants that have stacked nodes really tight for a few weeks during mid veg. It caused a kind of bunching, smaller foliage, and stiffer branches. Kinda looks like broccoli on the end.
I have a few culprits in mind, one being soil mix. im doing the moonshine mix, which is basically a super amended happy frog, adding worm castings, ocean forest, coco, perlite, endo, ecto, and some top dressing mix.
i haven't had any problems, otherwise. There are a few 3 finger leaves and some slightly warped leaves, which is abit unusual, too. They are beautiful emerald plants. It's like they got to a certain point a month ago and then started stacking hard. In the 9 of its strain, 3 are doing it and they are the smallest plants.
My worry is that when they start flowering, they will be mold prone since they are so tightly together.
Anyway, another thing i thought might have been an issue is that i have fed straight from my well, on occasions that i just needed water, which is pretty cold.
Could over or under watering do this? My plants are in buried fabric pots with the bottom cut out into the native soil. I water every 3 or 4 days. They don't tend to perk back completely when watered or even the next day. Never have let them get dry to the point they droop from it and this condition never looks like thirsty plants either. Just slightly droopier maxim that they used to have when after watering and smaller leaves and the bunching. The side and lower branches seem perkier than the upper canopy. It's like it is wearing itself out stacking nodes and vegetation and thus not stretching and perking as much. I know we're going into flower now and i was hoping the early flower stretch would de-bunch but the bunching happened a month ago and only to a few plants.
Thanks guys!
