Skunk smell in Cannabis

Have been searching for reasons in the decline of skunk smell in nugs and am finding that certain strains that once were incredibly skunky are not anymore , any idea's why this is? https://books.google.com/books?id=G...page&q=how to create thiols in plants&f=false found this interesing

I'll make it easier...

Skunk smells went away because Sam Skunkman bred away from those aromas and toward the sweeter smelling skunk varietals.

Skunky skunk isn't gone, it's just difficult to find in seed form.

Thanks for the replies guys , if thats the case his name should'nt have skunk attached to it , never thought skunk#1 was ever really skunky tho. Some stinky gems were coming out of Mexico at one point but even down there they growing diesel, gsc and gg4...I'm hoping it really is still out there and hasnt been lost to chlorine in the gene pool
