SIP Notill bed grow

So im 22 days into my current grow with a 65 gallon no till bed and im really liking it. Havent had any issues at all and the plants are doing great!. So for my next cycle I was thinking of combining my SIPs and my notill bed for the best of both worlds.

This was my idea.

line about 1-1.5 inches of hydroton on the bottom of this tray. Then put my 32 inch diameter bed ( 65 gallon) on top of the hydroton.

Then I would place a Aqua Valve in the tray attached to a Large water res.

This would allow for automated bottom watering. I would still occasionally do compost teas / top feed if I see it drying out.
Any possible issues you guys could see?

The issues I see are covering the hydroton that's not under the bed so no algae grows. Also, im not sure how well the Hydroton wicks water if it will wick into the bed enough

Sounds like you got it.

Bottom watering can lead to a building up of salts as they get filtered through the soil and also through top evaporation. Depending on your water and what not, I think it may be worth it to wash them down from the top on occasion.

It’s the same with lightly watering the top to keep it moist. Salts from the water will build up a couple inches down.

Do you mean flush my no till bed? Ive never heard of anyone flushing a notill bed.. ? I only plan on having water in the tray and some home made lacto serum occasionally.
