Single plant SCROG vs 6 plant SOG

Which would yield more.

Imagine 2 gallon buckets for each of 6 in a SOG, or a 15 gallon bucket for a single plant in a SCROG (24x36 or so)

hmmmmmm
dunno buddy i have never done it.
but the scrog seems to make for uniform buds main shoots deliver the largest colas
so one would assume the 6 would outperform as far as yield goes.
as far as veg time you save a lot goin with more then one plant, thats for sure.

I agree with the others. I'd go for the 6 plant setup because of shorter vegging time. You'll be harvesting more frequently this way. Why not do a 6 plant scrog? You could also use a single large container to hold multiple plants, but I suppose that depends on the differences in strains.

6 plants, that way just in case something goes wrong you have 5 other plants to harvest. You'll also be able to fill the screen up faster.

I'll keep i eye on this 1 i have 1 plant 2 weeks into veg and dont know if i should scrog or lst.

Let us know what you do.

Personally, id try six plants strategically placed in a miniture ebb and flow set up. Id use 6 inch RW cubes and center the plants to grow towards the perimiter of a 4x4 trellis and become a self proclaimed scrogdaddy. Yep, thats what id do. Good luck to ya, and whichever path you choose will be a learning one.

6 plants in 2 gallon buckets could still be scrogged if you used a modular setup like supersimple scrog big fat j style

or sog style.

either way 6 plants will yield more per watt per time when veg watts per time are factored in.

in a setup like yours i'd do 6 plants in modular scrog perpetual style harvesting 2 and starting 2 more every 3 weeks

How can you do a perpetual SCROG? With the plants being woven into the screen I would imagine it would be quite difficult to harvest and keep weaving more shoots through.

homer- what i think sugarbear is referring to if i am correct is a simple that big fat j came up with. and it would work real well with scrog. all you do is give each plant their own individual screen. i think he made his out of metal hangers. give each plant a screen thats around a foot or more and there ya go. as long as each one has its own screen you could potentially do a perpetual scrog harvest.

take it easy guys

I was thinking of making individual screens at 1.5' each and having four of them in a 3x3 area that would cover 9 square feet. All this under a 600 watt HPS, that would give me 66 watts per square ft. I will post up pics when I try it. I have been thinking of this for awhile but have never put it to use.

mo- thats a great idea. then you can potentially do a perpetual scrog if you wished.
everytime i have scroged i have used individual screens for each lady. i have had great results from it.

OK - a little more info.

I have 6 clones that are all about 2-3 weeks into veg.

They are super healthy, and have been topped and LST'd a bunch in a smaller cabinet.

Now, once my current flower cycle finishes, I need to decide what to do with these things.

I *was* thinking of doing 2 plants at a time in a scrog, but am now thinking maybe 3 at a time (leaving half the space in the veg cab to take a few more clones off each cycle)

Im just trying to figure out how to maximize bud, minimize time, and keep as close to perpetual as I can with my current setup.

As SOON as I can, I will be purchasing a better veg light (current is flouro 2 footers x 4) and then maybe down the road, purchasing or building a better clone cabinet so I can use the current cab for strictly mom/lst veg

In short, I am out of space, and my current veg area is shared by clones, kids, moms and mothers to be, and the lack of space and ability to manipulate the plants is bothering me.

Heres some pics of the clone cabinet as it stands now (this might help you understand)

HARDCORE trained.

Basically, the two in the biggest pots are "next up" and I was thinking two at a time - but i wont do that if the vegging of only two will take too long to fill a screen.

i would think that if you veg for 1 month and also have a seperate veg cab that enables perpetual. i would go with the sog because it is less maitenance. think about it, if you are harvesting every 2 months what is the point of a scrog. or you can just put a screen about it for the hell of it, do some training and you will at least have a few extra colas per plant, you can also lst.
