Single Cola SOG Canna A-B question

Anyone have advice for Canna A-B nute strength on a single cola style SOG? 1/2, 2/3 strength or what? I'm making a seed run to pick a few winners. No veg, 12/12 from start, single cola.

Well that sort of depends on what stage they are in ? Go to Canna's web site and download a feeding schedule that would be my advice.

....personally I find seeds to stretch out a bit in coco germination, but I feed from 0,5-0,7 a soon as the first leaves are opened (not cotyledons). I treat it like a hydro medium but on the drier side for the first 3weeks with seeds.

I think you'll get much more out of your grow if only giving them 1-2weeks in 24 or 18hrs veg light. (As soon as there's a decet root ball established you can flower out huge buds even if the vegetative matter of your plants is only aa few true leaves...

If blooming right away you could probablty use the regular sog show but on a lower concentration to begin with.

Kenny - Thanks man. The reason I'm running them small is I have a 2x2x4 space and only have 6 seeds left. The first 4 seeds I grew out had 3 males and one hermie.

I want to avoid having no good bud this time and running the rest of the 6 seeds starting 12/12 from day 1. The goal is to find one or two good females to clone and get smoke as fast as possible. I'll do something different next run maybe.

I downloaded the Canna schedule, but I'm burning them at the recommended ml/gal.

When I used that stuff I was doin 10ml A & B each and 5ml Rhizo 7ml cannazym per gl with great success once my moms were rockin in coco medium. I dont remember what I was using for young plants Id say start out 100-200 ppm and work your way up. Its better to do less than to nuke them. On this one indica plant from seed I had I was throwin 15ml per gl at her and she was lovin it. Turned from a teen into a tree in like 3 weeks.

I just called the canna schedule (nutrient calculator) a regular SOG-show, but forgot to mention that you should use it for clones that are rooted, and not seedlings. Another important thing is to choose light feeding mode, as it is more than enough. (If not you could always up the dose a little bit.) And if you let the coco dry out between watering/feeding you should also give just clean pH-adjusted water every other time you dunk them. (Be sure your waters start EC is taken account for.)

Id assume you'd run the clean Ph'ed water if you periodically let the plants dry out to remove excess salt from the coco. If you let the medium dry out it leaves only salts in the remaining coco. Which can leads to potential problems.

every other day? man, try watering more and watch the girls take off! i water my moms every other day and they stay small. the veg girls get fed a couple mins every 30 mins or so and they are extremely vigorous!

i did that my last grow
not seeing much of a difference
dont have as much roots either
cause i only vegged for 2weeks
instead of 4weeks+
my plants look very happy
they all are stickin upwards for the light

I have run anywhere from 4-6 different strains at once off this feed chart here and managed to keep everyone quite happy. I had a couple varieties that got a little burnt on this, but nothing serious, if you are growing something a little more sensitive scale it back about 25% and see how that works for you. I had my best results using a+b, rhizo, cannazym and pk13/14, nothing else was needed. Watering once daily in 5" square pots I averaged an oz per plant in a 16 plant SOG. Some of my hazes were just over 4 feet tall in a 5 inch pot! I would not recommend small pots for hand watering though, they dry out very quickly and I was flushing them alot to clear out the salts. Allowing the medium to dry even moderately is not a good idea, dry coco = hotspots, ph fluctuations and heavy salt buildups.

when i say mine dries out a lil bit
it just a lil bit of the top
probably like 1/4 of an inch
i dont think that is drying out

but when i water every other day they need 64 oz of water
rather than 32 oz when i water daily, so i'll probably go back to daily

SuperNuck - That's exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful SOG you got there too. I'm hoping to do a modified version of what you have setup, like 3-6 plants in 2x2x4 space. I'm not vegging but for a week max.

How much did you have to flush in the 5 in pots? Did you move to bigger pots for your SOG? I'm in 6 inch right now, starting 2nd week flower, 7ml A-B 7ml Cannazym 1ml Rhizo.
