It is also bud worm/caterpillar time. I despise those eating, shitting, cola ruining little bastards. So the timely application of BT is crucial. In the three years I've been using it, no caterpillars. Woo Hoo!

BT doesnt prevent everything, even when you spray BT the caterpillars will still hatch and still eat a few grams of nug before they die.

Also, if BT isnt sprayed at the right time its less effective. When is your prefered time to spray BT?

BT is definately a good weapon in the arsenal but you gotta combine it with other methods to truely get rid of them.

Right now i am interested in finding some kind of preventive that will deter moths from even landing in the garden. Anybody have any ideas...the active ingrediant in mothballs napthalene maybe spread around in certain places? hanging mothballs from the nets? Im open to all ideas.

I apply the BT just after sunset. I've read it breaks down in sunlight, and I'm trying to get maximum protection. In my time of using it I've had zero caterpillars. Prior to BT use I'd see them descend outta the buds when they were drying. And the amount of feces left behind was appalling. I suspect the moth that lays the the caterpillar eggs does so at night and I have no idea how to prevent that. I cannot even find the eggs, so BT is a real problem solver for me.
