Simulated Moonlight

Ok, first off, sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I was looking around and couldn't find anything appropriate. I'm a noob here, so please, keep the flogging to a minimum (unless you're german, and a female in latex). :spank: :whip:

I was wondering if anyone has tried, or thought of trying to simulate moonlight, I was sitting here , unable to sleep, and had this random idea. I looked it up online, and I've read that it helps fish and other aquatic animals with their natural state of things. Is it possible that it may have a beneficial effect on a grow room, as long as the spectrum and intensity was comparable to the moon itself. Also , has anyone read anything on magnetic fields, and any type of effect on plant life.

Again, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for it, I just thought it may be an interesting subject to bring up, and if it hasn't been done, I may try it myself once I get my ball rolling, In a controlled atmosphere of course.

That'd be a tough one to pull off. Not saying it wouldn't be interesting to see, but with a hermi'ed crop waiting if you're just one little bit off, I certainly don't want to be the one to test it :biglaugh:

thanks guys, this was just one of the many random thoughts that scream through my head at a million miles a minute. You can make a simulated moon by using blue leds, within a certain spectrum, Can't remember off the top of my head. I figured it might be something to try with a couple clones, once I get my green thumb established. I like to tinker, so if I wind up with a bunch of hermies, no biggie, I'll just have to have a seperate grow area.

I can see going by moon light cycles if somebody were doing an outside crop perhaps. I don't see how somebody will be able to simulate the gravity of the moon inside though, and I think it would probably be a bad idea to add any sort of lights to the dark cycle inside (besides green lights, which some people use briefly to check on their plants in the dark). But, by all means, go for it ! Sounds like an interesting experiment ! You'll never know for sure until you try !

that's what I figure, I was reading those other posts, and the moons gravitational pull definitely seems to make a difference, even indoors, I just wonder why moonlight doesn't negatively affect plants, or if it would have a positive effect. That's what started it all really, I was wondering why indoors, you need total darkness (with the exception of green light of course), but outdoors, the moon produces reflected sunlight, so how does that not have an adverse reaction as opposed to indoor, y'know. I'm just curious, and I won't mind killing a little bit 'o schwag seeds to find out, not the greatest genes, but no way are premium seeds going to be used early on.
