Yeah, I think you need to set your sights to a 'friendlier' kinder, gentler state. Even though Texas talks about legalization or MMJ....there are many hurdles and opinion obstacles in the way.

Learn all you can, get your degree and MOVE to a more hospitable state!!

You lost me when you started talking about a glass shop, and then turned to bottled nutes. Those two things are mutually exclusive in my neck of the woods, but I have only driven through Texas and never saw a need to stop for anything but gas.

Well, the governor sure didn't seem to have a problem with nitrates when they had that fertilizer plant blow up . Quite a place ! I once used to live there and I loved it, but that was a long time ago. I was just a child, and i knew only my grandparents love. I remember catching seahorses in the lagoona before they started the drilling. Can recall using a cast net and get big shrimp , about the 36 shrimp to a pound size now, right off of the pier. Grandpa would give me a dollar and tell me to walk down to the docks and buy the big shrimp. We would get about half a shopping bag full of massive shrimp for a buck. I ran a trot line for redfish and used to get money enough for gas and sodas. Padre island was deserted and so beautiful. A very different world now. I have heard that one cannot even walk the beaches down there any more because the stink is so bad from their damn drilling, that the island was turned into a tourist attraction.
When hurricanes came, the locals knew to go scour the beaches on the island, almost everyone down there had a junk box with a couple of peaces of eight in them. The place was once part of the King Ranch. LBJ married into the family.
As a young man LBJ spent time there when he was younger. There was an old fellow there who said he was a hired hand there at that time. Said that LBJ was one mean sob and that he once had trespassers (Mexicans who were looking for work) tossed down a dry well. I don't know.
When I was there, there were so few people, and the place was so beautiful. When I think of badly the area was trashed by progress, and so quickly. What the hell are we leaving behind but delusion and poison and lies.
