Just picked up a pair of sun system air cooled hoods and I'm loooking to seal all the little gaps in the hood with a silicon sealant. Just dont want to run into an outgassing issue like with my old hydro hut.

Anybody got an opinion?

I used about 10 tubes of GE Silicone II caulk in my room. No issues to report. I did let the room breath for about a month before use though...

yeah if i were u i would either use hot glue or duct tape of some sort, caulking is generally known to cause cancer (it says it on almost every tube) along with what smoking gun posted.

nothing wrong with hot glue or duct tape, theyve never given cancer to anybody:dueling:

Let me tell ya for a fixture that is marketed as being "sealed", these super sun 2s are not. Nice even light distribution, but it would be easier to seal if the glass just slid in like they used to instead of that feaking hinged design.

Anyhow......I rifled throgh my wifes craft stuff and broke out the hot glue gun, thanks for the idea Radarada. Worked great on the corners. Taped the shit out of the hniged glass door and things are much tighter now.

I'm pulling through two hoods, 1600watts, w/ 6" a 440 cfm can fan and about 30' of ducting....now my a/c is running about 25% as much as it had before:woohoo:
