Sideways Pictures

Uploading to albums or as attachments, I keep getting sideways pictures.

To say its discouraging is an understatement. Its completely withdrawn any intentions of posting pictures, tests, a log, tutorials...

I've seen the issue arise in other members threads.

Was curious if there was an open ticket or something for this, or if its because I have so many photos in my albums, to the point that I can't even delete or edit them lol.

Thanks!

This site does have a disproportionate amount of members posting pics in unusual positions ...but I thought it was cause they were stoned at the time ...

if not them ...well! ...

Me? lol

maybe its me but the first 3 look close but normal, lights at top and 4 and 5 were taken with the camera sideways, lights on the right and if rotated counter clockwise would be correct..

I notice in pic 2-3 you use a bank of T8's, I used the same from about 1978 onwards, as recommended in the book
"Marijuana Growers Guide" by Mel Frank and Ed Rosenthal a great little book in its time, I used the T8 bank for about 20 plus years even with the Mh and HPS waiting to go, after some years I reverted to using the lights in their original housing, tho heavy one could adapt to local heights at the time, I still use the T8 bank for germing and early veg, really the T8 is as much fun as ever with your clothes on ...lol do hope you have changed the ballast to the modern white ones not the heavy black metal ballasts that leak PCB all over ...I have my bank on to counterweights, of 15 Ibs each ..? to slide up and down the closet to tend and water ...is great fun and thanks for the pic.

ps see to your night time temps note the red coloring on the leaf stems ...lol

and thanks

dudes the veg space is so overgrown. you think those stems are red? Man some of them are purple! lol

@ Snook seems liek that makes a lot of sense.

Maybe windows 8 is displaying the pictures properly but the older server software still needs the file to be switched because it doesn't have that advanced program.

Ganna be a hassle to figure that one out...

this guy fixed my problem.

windows 8 automatically rotates the pictures but doesn't force save the file to be changed with the new info allowing older programs without the automatic rotation feature to display the picture in its original state.

I opened picture #5 and just saved it since it was already rotated properly.

Just uploaded it and it came through onto the website with the proper rotation.

I'm going to contact microsoft and find out how to turn off the feature that automatically rotates pictures or figure out how to control it when you import photos off a device.

Thanks everyone, especially Snook.

He rekindled my icmag groove!

One of the reasons you see sideways pictures here is that for some reason if the image is too large it automatically rotates the picture for some reason. If this happens to you just shrink the picture a bit and watch what happens.
