These were all started from seed in rockwool with the exception of the one K2 clone that struggled for a long time but finally showed roots. Three Sweet Warps and two White rhinos.
I just put them into the SWC setup (first try with this) and have tried to maintain a pH of 5.7-6.2, but it fluctuates (mostly rises) so often that its tough to say what percentage of the time it is actually set to this. Temps inside the cab had been brutally hot for a few days due to some hot weather coming around but are now at range of 77-87 degrees. Its tough to keep it any cooler in the room or cab itself. I treated the rockwool and have the reservoir at about 500ppm (consisting of pure blend pro grow and superthrive). I did remember to rinse the hydroton clay but after a few days the water was getting dirty so i changed it. For about a day the reservoir's PPM got to about 1000 which is too strong for plants at this stage... I dont know what the temp is in the res but i have a feeling its too warm given the temps in the cab being mid to upper 80s.
heres the set up:
Slowly shriveling sweet warp, i thought it was from heat stress but even when the temps cooled down a bit it continues to get worse:
Droopy sweet warp, I noticed there was algae growing on the surface of the rockwool so i trimmed it off. This has been droopy for 3-5 days i'd say:
K2 clone. This took forever to root and was 1 of 3 that made it. There is some browning on the edges of its lone fan leaf. I was excited to see a little new growth on this as its been moving along very slowly. I just want to preserve the genetics here:
A healthy looking sweet warp! The leaves were overly erect, pointing towards the sky. I believe this would have been from over fertilizing and i've noticed its settled down a bit since i changed the water:
White rhino seedling. This also has been drooping a bit and has a little brown/yellowing at the tops of its first leaves. New growth looks ok but its very small:
Healthy looking white rhino seedling:
I have the bottom of the net pots submerged a bit into the reservoir by about 1/4" to 1". I was unsure of what the water level should be relative to the net pots. There are no roots dangling from any of the net pots at this point so i thought it would be necessary in order to dampen the rockwool.
Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.
