Sick Sour Diesel :(

I am a new user on IC and I am very grateful to have found this most informative and educational forum.
I've looked through the pest/disease guide and I am still confused about a problem I am having with my plants.... This is my 4th grow in an ebb and flow system under 400w hps (agrostar) and up until now I have had great success. This time, I started with Sour Diesel clones - veged 'em a little too long but they were doing just great.... I switched to flower 2-1/2 weeks ago. Due to the size of the plants, I changed my watering schedule from every 4 hrs to every 3 hrs, 7 min flood (just enough to start draining) from 9am-9pm, during lights off it floods just 2x at 4 hr intervals. At first all seemed well (about a week or so)... 2nd week, I lost the smallest plant... All the leaves wilted up and it was dead in about 3 days. I thoroughly inspected it... As it died, the leaves stayed nice and green - no spotting or anything, they just got all wilty and lost vigor. The roots looked ok to me, didn't smell or look like root rot. I figured it was an anomaly and let it go... Now I am mid week 3 of flower and my second plant is wilting.... I didn't have great drainage so I releveled the tray and flooded a few times w/ 100:1 Flora Shield. I feel really ill over the situation. I am obviously lacking experience, but my buddy who has the real greenthumb moved to AZ. I am really glad to have found IC forums and I would be very appreciative of any advice that may be offered.... I am using GH Flora series, currently at GMB 3-8-14 in a 20 gal reservoir w/ ppm of 1350 and a ph of 6.0 . I have included the following pics..... Thanks.

1) Yellow leaves in the center of the plant (yeah, I know it's stetched)

2) Roots in the tray after flood (I just solved a drainage issue, there *was* some standing water between floods)

3) Close-up of some of the burn on one of the otherwise healthy plants

4) The roots again

5) Close-up of one of the affected leaves (early stage)

6) Yellow Leaves

7) This one is wilting and appears to be slowly dying... I just treated w/ FloraShield @ 1:100

8) Second shot (bad) of my wilting SD.... It makes me so depressed.

you want to drop your ph a little bit. i like mine at 5.5 and it will rise into perfect ph range

If your plant wilts after you water your watering too much if it perks up after you water your not watering enough you want it to stand like this

Im pretty sure you dont need to flood at night
Make sure your roots are in the dark
Just keep reading around here on others ebb and flows im sure youll find some answers

You can expect some leaves to turn yellow
The rest of the plant looks good.
The droopy ones look like overwatering only
good luck & Peace

Thanks for the PH chart/nute availability chart... I will try bringing it down to 5.5

As far as over/underwatering - the others in the tray seem ok and this problem began to surface while I was still on a schedule of watering every 4hrs... Since the plants are MUCH bigger, I just changed the interval to 3hrs a couple days ago. I have always only had the 2 night flood cycles but I could try to eliminate one or both if they are unnecessary. Thanks so much for the quick feedback everybody.

Actually, the problem seems to have been a bulb at the end of it's life cycle.... I noticed that the bulb had started putting out yellow light, so I replaced it with a nice new bright and white Sylvania LU400/ECO and things are perking up.

Ya, ya don't want to water the rootzone at night. It is unnecessary. Foliar spraying is ok tho at lights off.

I found the cause of the demise of my SD tray.... The water level in the res was too high and there was too much rockwool around the seedlings when I put them into the hydroton... When I inspected the last pull - I carefully broke apart the rockwool (actually grodan) and noticed that the stem in that area was soft, rotten and mushy.... You live and learn... I really appreciate all of the help and input though, thanks!

OK, much to my dismay I watched 6 of my 8 SD clones wither and slowly die. Before they dried out, I cut them and did a 4-day hang-dry..... Well, the funny thing is this - not only were they dry (the stems snap and crack right off), but they smelled pretty good too although they are about 3 weeks premature and haven't cured yet.... I was starting to jar them up and I decided to try one of the small-mid sized nugs. Low and behold, it knocked me to the floor... Excellent, full SD taste - tastes like it has already cured for a few weeks - I am really dumbfounded... I had planned to dump the strain but now I look at the two runts that have survived and wonder if I should re-veg and/or take some cuttings.... I had planned to take the tops and kill them off, but could I just go to 18/6 for a week or two after topping and then take some cuts? I think I would really like to grow it out again under better conditions.

You're lucky you got some nugs.

Mine dried out completely before it produced any good nugs. :-( The yellowing started out like yours and then covered the whole plant. Good thing I got more beans...

Hey Mr. Freeman, since we both had bad luck and are retrying the strain - any suggestions as to nute ratio or anything? Thx
