Everything I've read points to a Cal/mg lockout but I would rather post and get more reliable feedback than what my stoned brain finds on the net.


How long has this problem been going on? 3 weeks

What STRAIN are you growing? White Rhino

What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) Clone

What is the age of your plants? 7-8 weeks

How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? Entire life in soilless, 3 weeks in this container size

How Tall are the plants? 12-16 inches

What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Flower day 8

What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) Standard

What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot) 5 Gallon grow bags - 1 plant per bag

What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?) Promix

What Nutrient's are you using? Earth Juice

How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? 2 gallon buckets mixed to 1200 ppm and 5.8 PH *Knowing the brand is very helpful*

How often are you feeding? Every other watering

If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? 8 days ago

What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) Veg/bloom nute then additive then PH adjust

What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? 1200-1500

What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? 1000-1500

What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? Hannah PH Probe

How often are you watering? Every 6 days

When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? Last night - every other watering

What size bulb are you using? 2x1000 watt HPS

What is the distance to the canopy? 24 inches

What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 45 lights on, 70-75 lights off

What is the canopy temperature? 84

What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) 84 day, 62 night

What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) recirc fan

Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? No ventilation

Is the fan blowing directly at plants? Yes, but fan is oscillating

Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? No

Is your water HARD or SOFT? Unsure - 100 ppm from tap

What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? Well water

Are you using water from a water softener? No

Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? Cloned off of 10 days ago.

Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? Rosenthals organic bug spray

Are plant's infected with pest's? Not anymore. Slight flying gnat problem quickly eliminated by Rosenthals organic bug spray.

I also am interested in an explanation as to why 1 of my Rhinos has turned this color. When I grew out the seeds, 11-20 were female. 2 phenos late in flower showed this coloring on the fan leaves. Now of my 10 clones I just flowered out, just this one changed colors. None of the previous batch of 16 plants turned this color, making me wonder if it is a nutrient def of some type.

Probably just a unique colored pheno... That kind of color change is normal in flower... As long as the buds look nice and are progressing along schedule no need to worry about the fan leaf color change... How much water do you give those plants in 2 gal. pots?

How much water do you give those plants in 2 gal. pots?

I don't have any in 2 gal. pots in there. They are all in 5 gal bags. They get about 2 gallons of water each watering.

Hi TriIron,
I can give you a few thoughts...hopefully some are useful.

White Rhino, as a WW derivative should be supplemented with Mg from the start.

I don't see any specific Ca deficiency symptoms but it has a general quality of dis-array that comes from either root issues or water stress issues.

One problem I've had with peat based soil-less is that the peat, when dry, is hard to get wet again and sometimes requires a wetting agent (few drops of dish detergent) Also might more frequent smaller waterings make life easier?

They didn't start looking like that after using the organic bug spray? Did you rinse afterward?
