i have a small 7" oscillating fan on inside my tent on my 5 plants all day. only shuts off for an hour twice a day, so 22 hours on. is this ok? i had a question in another thread on bottom oldest leaves or "catyledons" turning yellow. rest of plant looks healthy. trying to see if i have a problem or that is normal. using process of elimination between under/overwatering, ph or fan. i'm starting to think all is ok, and that yellowing on bottom set of leaves is normal. just was curious about the fan and what u guys do...thanks. :joint:

My fan stays on 24/7. It's normal for the cotyl leaves to turn yellow and dry up as they are no longer needed.

Mine stays on 24/7 too. Its a perfect sized fan for my room.

Fan sizes vary for each different grow room. Closets and grow boxes need small fans with fresh air coming in and out constantly .

Using the fan you just have to be careful it isn't blowing too hard on any of the plants because they can get wind burn and look pretty haggard after a few days. It is important to have a fan running though. If the plants are doing a slight dance in the wind its fine, but a little stonger it can cause problems. The occilation helps quite a bit and usually wind burn only happens when the fan is directed onto one plant so that it gets no break from the wind. If they look good then your probably fine. Just thought I would mention it because I had a wind burn probem once before because the fan was set a little to high.

Also, as stated above it is cormal for the cotyldons (spelling?) to dry up and yellow. They are only used as food for the seedling stage and not needed later in growth.

On a side note, it is also a good idea to take your fan, turn it on high and point it at the plants and try and blow away any dust that accumultes on the leaves and such. Do this once every 2 weeks. Just grab your fan and blow the hell out of them and you will see what I mean by dust. Now don't go and blow the things over if ya know what I mean-be carefull.

stand outside at night time.....if the wind never blows theres your answer.....try and recreate the outside world in the inside gardens as much as you can....wind blows in different directions too....move the fan around now and then to anouther position/place.HH. =]-~
