Should I Cover Them Up?

Okay, here's the low down...I've got 3 female plants outdoors, about 3 weeks into flowering with maybe 4 or 5 weeks to go..they are in a metal cage with black mesh covering them to protect them from grasshoppers and what not. They look great so far, but the temps. are dropping now and I'm not sure what I should do as I've never grown much outdoors past the 1st week of October.

The low tonight is supposed to be 30 degrees F, should I cover them up or put something over them to keep them a little warmer?

If there is a hard frost/freeze warning you should cover them. Personally, if I only had three and it was easy to cover them, I would do it.

Won't hurt to cover 'em. Frost resistance is strain dependent. Some strains are unfazed by even lower temps, others not so much.

thanks so much Smokey :) I totally appreciate it.

having that cage around them helps a lot..so I just took a blanket and put it over them..covers 95% of the cage so it should keep them a little warmer.

Jhhnn, I'm almost certain that these plants are some sort of Kush..they were the seeds from a bag of dispensary buds.

Bed sheets work the best. They are light and shouldn't break any branches but will be enough to keep the plants from frosting over.

looked up the low temps. for the next 10 days...nothing as cold as tonight though...upper 30s to mid 40's...I was worried for a second and thought the cold nights have arrived for good..looks like I'll have some time to finish this grow.

no, not really a guerilla grow..just 3 plants in a tomato cage covered with black mesh...

A man by the name of Jean Pain was able to heat his entire house located in the French Alps all winter long with nothing more than compost. In his case a pile of fresh wood chips.
Many green houses employ his method perhaps you could devise something similar?
