Should I Call A Plumber

Hey folks,
Just wanted to get your input on a little sitiation..

I have a decent size grow in the garage and i'm currently having plumbing problems. All the water seems to back up into the downstairs bathtub so we basically aren't using any of the sinks/showers until we figure this plumbing issue out.

My question is this: Do you know any reason why the plumber would need access to our garage? We do have a washer/dryer setup in the garage, and there is a drain in there. But the issue is in the bathroom. Also, we are on septic tank system.

Any help in this matter would be awesome even if it's just to post and laugh at us  thanks!

I would call a plumber-- I don't think they would need access to the garage...but if so, simply tell them it is rented out, and you don't have a key--:tiphat:

If the basement has a seperate drain you are ok, but if your upstairs is connected to the same line (which is 99% the case) ising the upstairs will just add pressure to the basement. If you have a sump pump that pumps your basement lines, there is (should be) a check valve stopping upstairs from coming downstream.
More than likely, he will just need access to the basement, usually a utility type room will contain your clean outs. And there should be C.O. outside the foundation outside the house.
Saying it (garage) is rented will buy you 24hrs if needed. But access should not be needed.

I ALWAYS TIP or have cookies and/ or beer ready for all utilities. I even had an electrician call me out on a grow. (Non med at the time) I just ignored it and handed him a beer with the check... and a $50 bonus... never said a word. He became my electrician for a while after that. Then he turned me on to an A/C guy.

if your on a septic, it could be what happend to me, which was a simple fix...

go out to your septic tank outside, lift the lids. there should be a pvc tube in there, i bet you its clogged, get a pole/stick, poke it in the pvc and see if a bunch of SHIT and paper doesnt come out!

i was freaking out, even had the septic guy come out and look at it, because the septic is outside, theres no need for them to come in..

use less toilet paper for future shits! :) good luck

Sometimes septic systems need to be sucked out.. full tank deal..there is also some stuff you can flush into them every so often that increases the bacterial action in them and helps...then you need to use septic approved toilet paper in them or they stop up... be sure and ask the plumber if he does septics...don't be flushing weird shit in there...tampons, plant stuff, paper towels...

From what he relayed a good rooter might clean every upper terminal. -or- 'The last cleanout in each horizontal line.' If the washer and tie in down stream of the plug, I WOULD DEFINITELY clean it. But you can opt for him to leave it alone UNLESS it turns out to be HIS WASHER LINE plugging the line IF SO HE (plumber WILL need to get to it. Not trying to scare him, but as a plumber for 21 years I was giving real world scenario ...
Arthritis Sucks... sorry man I read downstairs and my simple mind pictured a basement. LMAO...Thanks for pointing out how stupid a basement sounds! WHO HAS A BASEMENT.. hu'...
Appreciated!:thank you:

Chances are he will only need into the bathroom. But i stand by my first idea- cookies (non med of course) smell up the house and who talks shit about a guy who gives you cookies?... shit homie, fly me out, I'll bring meds you make cookies. LOL

You ought to try unplugging it yourself; it's not rocket science, and it's several hundred less than a plumber. Surf youtube for clogged plumbing or whatever. It could be what Adrift was talking about or something similar.
Septic systems aren't like municipal systems, there's no "flush and forget" out in the sticks.
No ciggy butts, no diapers, no garbage disposals. Don't drive over the leach field. Maybe some yeast or Roebic once or twice a year, and get pumped out every decade or so.
I've been peeing in the back yard 35 years, the septic system thanks me for that.
