Should I alternate feedings with plain water?

I have heard that some dont EVER give thier ladies plain water till the flush. And then, I have heard of folks that alternate watering and feeding religiously. Anyone have any opinions steeped in experience they can share with me?

The reason I ask is my first grow every I fed them every single time. I believe i experienced lockout because of it. Currently i am alternating waterings and feedings and they seems to be much happier. Any ideas?

what's the ph of the water/water and nutes mix you use? do you think you may experience lockout because of a too low ph?

I think its a good idea. I run coco and flush my pots every few weeks in flower and am always amazed at how much nutrients are trapped in my pots. I am thinking of alternating my feedings with plain water, its just a PIA with a rez thats full of nutrient water. Your plants will do fine. They wont just fall over and die going one or two days without nutrients. Good luck and let us know how it works. Peace.

Depends on media and nute strength. When I did rockwool E&F, minerals would visibly build on top of the cubes. At that point, I'd scrape off residue and hand water with plain tap for a week.

i am doing soil a mix of FFOF and happy frog. i am in 5gal smarties.

i typically ph around 6.1-6.3 and feed pretty heavy...around 1200ppm. alternating feedings and watering although one diesel in particular looks like it could use alittle nitrogen. gonna give it a nice kick in the but in a couple days!
