Shopping for a relatively old v-8 4x4...whattaya think?

Mid to late 70's-early 80's....I love the trucks! New enough that they have AC, but they still have that old school truck look and none of that computerized /sensorized/ crammed engine compartment / BS that newer cars/trucks have...

Though my demand for a 4x4 reduces what's out there a lot, there's still a lot to be had for under 10k.

I prefer black...I like old school chrome...stockish look, no huge lifts or anything....

So which do you think???

those old chevy's are sick bro, if you can get one in as good condition as those pics, i'd say buy it immediately before some 16 year old gets it and trashes it :joint:

Just pick-ups? I love the late 70's Broncos... Here is a '79.

The 1980's were good for Chevy trucks. Lotsa options, and a lot of the beds and clips are interchangeable.

psst.... its a 78', it has round headlights. 79 has square. :comfort: :)
nice looking bronco though, I've always had a thing for big boggers too..

cant go wrong with a Chevy either. that body style was the longest running style chev produced, lots of spare parts out there. I had a 77 with 6" and 38.5 TSL's and it was nearly unstoppable. the treefiddy sucked though for that big of a tire.

Alright I went with the Chevy. I picked up an 87 Silverado 4x4, the last year of that old body style. It has the stock 302 with fuel injection. Not a lotta horses but I like fuel injection and it can tow plenty for me. The one I got has a pretty big lift and 35's so it's a freaking monster! Bring on the snow.
