Shoddy grow cabinet, needs improving!

hi guys,
i just bought a grow cab from the local paper! some guy had bought it for a present for his grandmother, all the way from abroad, but he said it is not light proof at all and he just wanted shot of a bad deal. so anyway, that leaves me as the benificiary!

it measures 91cm by 75cm by 45ish i think. it has a 400w hps witha remote ballast (ballast is on the back), dual air pumps with a 9 plant dwc. 120cfm exhaust, (on top) and a 60cfm i ntake (at the back):




i've added a 125w envirolite in the left top corner (mounted vertically, used shefl brackets) and the 400w hps is in the right corner top. hope you can make this out here:




now, what i would like to do is to light proof it (tried painting it white, not completely worked as sunglight- yes sunglight is showing through). you have to wonder about the guy who sold this, but anyway im not complaining as i got it second hand new! iu also need to work out some kind of light trap for the fans.

further, i already have a miniveg chamber, and dont know whether i should put the 125w red in that (for a second flowering chamber) or best to have one flower, noe veg chamber. im growing for strictly personal use, but i smoke a lot. prob could smoke an 1/8 day easy.

i also dont know whether to put the plants i have vegging already in this cab:

or whether to take clones from the above plants. i know this is probably a personal call, but i would appreciate advice. i would like to get as much green, as soon as possible!

Sorry to put a dampner on your high spirits but if you get busted, at least you'll know who stuck you in.

whoah, you scared me for a min there! i get it, you think he might say something? shouldnt be a prob,seemed like a decent guy who was trying to make some money back on his purchase. funny you sohuld say, he said he was bothered that they delivered it too him with all the insides listed clearly on the outside of the box- they even had put his note,asking them to be discreet, on the outisd eo fthe box, including a list of things (hydro related) that he didnt buy. felt sorry for him, gave hima decent price on the box and equipment. should be ok on that front i hope. i should add, i had checked these boxes and others like them before deciding to diy it, glad i didnt bother now ive seen a finished product. but i will either do the box up, or start a new one with the ballast, timer etc that i bought it for.

now, on to the box itself. the paint isnt working at all...

so its like rubbermaid thing. umm maybe paint hte outside, or put some thin wood on the outside. that woudl take care of most of the sunlight. then on the inside get some mylar or even a few of those emergency blankets if ur on the cheap side.

have you thought about covering the inside with mylar?
if you don't want to do that, yank everything out and put down a couple coats of black underbody spray in it and then a couple coats of flat white over that. It'll do the trick.
you really don't need a light to supplement the 400, but it would probably increase your yields if you fixed the light distribution by mounting the 400 in the middle instead of the corner.

like irish said, paint it black first and then white. or get some reflectix from lowes which is also insulation so can cut down on some noise.
