Hello fellow ICMag friends!
The never ending adventure of cannabis genetics continues! I recently picked up some ‘Heirloom Afghani’ from the provider Alpha Seed Bank of Colorado with a 1.96% Geraniol content! Geraniol is the predominant terpene that gives roses and rose geraniums their characteristic ‘Rose’ smell.
I just germinated 8, and all 8 popped. The seeds are just sprouting above the soil now. The plants are labeled as Afghan Rose as I don’t believe they are a pure Afghani Kush. Planning to reverse males to test (either through sense or laboratory) for the most rose scented cannabis.
Once the terpene profile is set, I plant to bred a variegated plant with high anthocyanin content + photosynthetic pigments to breed pink/magenta plants (never green) and flowers with rose aromas.
