Shifting 12/12 schedule?

G

Guest

Can I shift the schedule from on at 2pm, off at 2am, to something like 12pm-12am?

I just want it to come on sooner now in the day. I'm 3-4 days into 12/12.

Yes you can do it with no problems because it is early on in flowering and you are not radically changing the schedule like flipping night for day (this is very bad at any stage).

go ahead and do it, it will not have any effect on the plant

what you have to watch out for is light leaks during the dark cycle, as long as your babies get 12 hours of darkness somewhere in there they will adjust and be fine.

My cab isn't light proofed but the room its in is dedicated to the grow and is light proof, at least when i stand right next to the cab with the lights off and in the dark cycle i can't see my hand 3" from my face, you think that there is enought light in the room to give hermies? the cab must be even darker because light can only come in from the duct hole and thats on the back wall (not facing the door to the room) and the 8 2" holes in the floor.

Hey bud, Ideally you don't want ANY light to get into the room. I have my closetlight proofed as well as the room outside of it ; ) I am not sure how true this is, but some have said that even the LED from a computer keyboard or whatever can hermie your plants, so they need TOTAL darkness.

As for the topic of this thread. I did the same thing, it's cool. Hope this helps.

I do all the time with 14 hours on in the middle of flower but I include Co2 if any radical changes happen

You'll be fine with that time change.
I'm a little anal about maintaining 100% 12hrs of darkness right from day one tho. It probably doesn't matter either way, but what I'd do is this: you currently run ON2pm-OFF2am...let it come ON as normal at 2pm...but turn the lights OFF at 12am instead of 2am...you can now turn your lights ON at 12pm and off at 12am. No interuption of the 12hr dark period :)

Daylight savings probably has alot of people thinking of doing this. I had mine at 10pm - 10am, and now it's 11pm to 11am. I was gonna change it, but decided to leave it as I don't want to change it again in the fall. Besides....my garden is pwerpetual, so some are ready in a week and some have just been put in. Don't want to take the chance of a problem.

Cheers,
