sexing seeds, is this for real?

That sure is very interesting. It goes against everything I've ever heard/read/known.

No need to download the zip, it was one image, attached below.

It completely ignores that sex determination isn't done by genetics alone, the grow conditions also play a role in that .
Under good conditions you will grow out more females than under bad conditions .

This is proven by the following test :
sow in a field with seeds , and then after two weeks when the plants are about 10 cm above the surface sow in the same amount of the same seeds in the space thats left . When these seeds also break the surface start 12/12 . The Plants from the last sowed seeds will have a lack of light because the first sowed take it from them. This results in up to 90% males in the plants that started later. the first sowed seeds grow out more females.
This test should be done with a large number of seeds/plants in order to have reliable results.

This is why i have my doubts about sex determinations based on the shape of seeds.

and this :
"Only one in ten seeds meet this standard the rest will become male or hermie" is about what it says ,now thats very impossible !!

I remember someone posting that info on sexing seeds on OG and it was debunked as rubbish.

One must agree that when you look at your seeds, you will find a very few seeds that exhibit the perfect round circle this article claims, so I can't wait for a real side by side comparison, the way I see it, why would someone claim 100% results and show photos of the seeds if its all Hogwash?

Hello all,

To my experience, the so called female seeds come out often Hermaphrodite.
I prefer better then to use "normal" seeds and take the males away before they come..
I know it's sad... lol.
I found out through the years that, if I germinate the seeds at 23 degrees (Celcius) and put the seeds in a little "sauer" soil by adding some "Canna Bio Flower" to the soil, the majority comes out female.
This season I started out with 8 seeds from several strains. 5 came out females and 3 male.
The 2 home strains, The 2 Green Ambassadors and 2 Purple Peace came all out female! Just lucky?
I use a Purpurea Erdber (Esben) male to pollinate the other 3 strains.
For next year's seeds.
Keep on growing folks, take care and stay safe..

Peace, G.A.

High folks!
nah there aint a way to determine sex by seed shape...lolol... this has been discussed a good few times..

Ive seen a seed er two, you can imagine..
The only real relevence seed structure has (in prediction), is possible ID of phenotype in earlier filial gens of offspring, and thats not always even accurate..

Such a simple observation of an obvious indicator would have been proven and documented LONG ago, if it held any weight.. but it hasnt.. n the info presented, is friggin DRAWN..lol

observing seeds: specific stable lines display uniquities of seed formation/structure, determined by genetics, pased on in a similar manner as plant phenotype.
as Ive always said: the proof is in the progony!

Peace, bub.

No not just lucky !! I can not explain the theory behind this but in practise it's provable that the environment plays a role in sexdetermination, and not genetics alone.

A real hermie should not be used to create female seeds. One should grow male flowers (force them to with a hormone or a certain salt) on a very female plant. This sounds like another hermie ,but there is a difference.
anyhow , it is possible to create seeds that will only grow out females without the extra chance of growing out hermies! This is female seed in stead of feminized seed.
