Sexing a plant

I just started 4 Chronic seeds. When they sprout how long should I let them veg before I turn the lights to 12/12 so I can sex the plants? Then I want to put the females back into veg. Should I go 24/0 or 18/6 at that time?
Thanks

wait till there 10/12 inches high then 12/12 light cycle till there ready. chronic continues to grow during 12/12 light cycle.

I personally allow mine to veg until they show the sex by themselves. In this round, they got to about 10" before they showed sex. 3/3 female

hi man,

I'd also wait for them to show sex while in vegging.

Going in 12/12 and then back to vegging will stress your plants a little and you will miss about 1 or 2 weeks of growth.

It takes some time for the plant to adjust its chemistry.

Thanks all,
That is what i always do "veg until they show sex under 18/6." But this time out I want to grow a sog. and thought that I could go 12/12 at about 2 weeks, sex would show and I could revert. From what I read, it's best to veg them, snip some branches off each to clone, continue to veg the plants, pull the males, flower the gals, and hopefully the clones will take and I can take cuttings off of those. I have about 7 weeks before this crop is done, so maybe my timing will be just right. I'm looking to have 24-28 clones, veg for 2 weeks max in 1 gal bags. My space is only 6x2.

Okay, so I was reading that when plants get a tad taller with side branching, you can cover one of the branches up with a non-see through bag (12/12). This will allow that one branch to show the sex of the plant. Has anyone done this?
