i've not got a big tent 80x80x2m enough space for 4
my next grow is with reg seeds and i'm planning on planting 10 seeds to hopefully get 4 females
i know sexing early maybe two weeks from seed and putting them back into reveg is possible
but has anyone hear done that?
what was your outcome?
thanks in advance

In my run #4 I have 15 plants that are regs, and 6 bags to hold them. I will put 2 or 3 each in 10 gallon bags, and hope like heck I can see males before they cause trouble.

Yeah I'd put more of them in a pot rather that bother with reveg and stuff. Or 12/12 from seed with more seeds..

I wouldn't mess with the photoperiod and re-veg because it's unnatural. I grow all 10 reg. plants, each one in a one-gallon pot at the beginning. Grow and treat them like they are all females and when they show their sex, remove the males, and up-pot the females into large containers. Its the fastest and easiest way to grow without downtime. 😎

Well first let me answer your question by saying I've never done that. Now I'm guessing you're talking about going straight to 12/12 once the seeds sprout as that's the only way I know of to get plants to show sex in as little as two weeks. Although I would say 3 weeks is more likely. Here's the thing though getting the plant back to veg after it's in flower can be a slow process and I've seen some reporting that it can take as much as 2 months or even more. If that's the case then you're not getting anytime saving benefit by trying to flower from seed and therefore you would probably be better off giving then a full veg cycle and let them reveal their sex normally (typically week 8 of veg but it can also take a bit longer. I'm guessing the reason for revegging then is because you do want to give them a longer veg time to get them to a bigger size. Which if that's the case it would make more sense to just give then a normal veg cycle of about 2 months, cull any males and just send the remaining females to flower.

Now if your goal is to be able to know for certain what you are vegging is female so that you don't waste time or resources vegging out males there are two other ways to go, one would be to buy feminized seed from a trusted breeder of feminized seed like eee.femaleseeds.nl. That way you can be fairly confident you're not wasting any time or resources of males. The other option would be to normally veg some plants, cull the males and then make the females into clone mothers. This of course would require a separate grow area to keep your mothers. Once you have a mother or two for taking clones then you can just root some clones and veg them for however long you want and then switch to flower knowing that the clones will be females because they came from a female.

Take clones and flip the seed plants to sex then flower the clones..

Or he could take cuts and then flip the cuts immediately to identify the corresponding plant …it can be done with next to no space at all in any light …all you’re doing is sexing the cut you can do it under a desk lamp manually with the proper 12/12

I agree with star crash . Veg your plants as normal, and take cuttings from your lowest sets of good branches. Root the cuttings under 12/12 and they will often show sex before they have rooted.

A couple of the reasons I don't multi-plant in the same containers. The first is because the dead plant roots left behind block pathways and take away space from the single plant roots. The single plants left are always restricted and smaller because of this. Another reason is the microbe and nitrogen will be tied up in the dead root areas from having to process the dead plant roots. For the fastest without delayed growth always use small containers and up-pot to the big bags of potting soil for the best growth and most yield. 😎

Rub the stalks and sniff your fingers. Decide if you like them or not. Later when they show sex, you may realise you have super powers. It's worth knowing.

Two weeks... with a good start I would expect 4 weeks before you can visually see female signs.

Most of us are in the northern hemisphere, with day lengths currently suited to flowering. So a few cuttings shouldn't be too hard to keep in a prop somewhere. A bathroom window is favourite, as the glass is frosted. You might not be taking a cutting at 2 weeks though. It's a push at 4 weeks. Seeds can be fickle. They can take 2 days to come up, or 6 days. Then they might shoot off (generally males) or they can sit another week being idle. I like 6 weeks from seed before I have plants mature enough to flower. I actually give myself 8, but 6 or 7 will do. Not 4 or 5 or my schedule would start slipping. You can see sex about then though. The boys are tall and strong and smell bad. The girls are shorter and fatter, have little flowers and smell nice.
